I'm running OS4 update 6 on my A1XE and I've reacently notice that my camd drivers have stoped working. I still have the camd.library in LIBS: and the emu10kx sound blaster driver in devs/midi and it all worked a while ago (haven't use my A1 for some time now).
I'm not sure at what point it stoped whether it was update 6 or even 5, can anyone enlighten me on this problem?
Sorry if this has been address already but a quick search came up with nothing.

Yes, this is a problem introduced somewhere after update 6 (unfortunately the little updates make it very hard to pinpoint it).
Though we only have two cases of the Envy24HT CAMD midi driver stopped working, see here...no solution as of yet, but Lyle is on the problem.
Your case is new and should be added to the overall problem as it may be a general bug in the CAMD driver then, not only affecting the Envy24HT driver.
A workaround would be to get a USB to MIDI adaptor
Good Morning! When I stay up all night coding, I miss these early morning posts.
I had two reports of CAMD failure on the Envy24HT driver. This is the first report I have heard from a different driver.
I still have a VIA686 sound card driver on my Micro.. and it has not been updated in AGES.. Maybe I can do gradual updates and see where we lost CAMD at.
I will try to get this in the next few days.
Also, as Raziel noted, USB midi ports still work. and if you are interested in performance, they work much better than sound card MIDI ports.
I'll reply back here once I know more about the problem.
USB could be a bit of a problem for me as its a bit shakey on my old XE and all my slots are in use with Sii ide card, sound card and catweasle mk3 so no USB2 card for me.
Its a shame not much on these old earlybird boards worked properly could have save a couple of slots at least.

For whatever reason I have not been able to get my never-before-tested Edirol UM-1D USB MIDI interface working. Could be my stupidity or the unit that somebody gave me could be bad.
But...
I just restored MIDI functioning for my SoundBlaster by rolling back dos.library.kmod to version 53.90. I'll note this on the Hyperion support forum too.
If you need gameport MIDI right now, you can roll back the dos_lib to 53.115 or earlier.
It looks like that update prevents any CAMD drivers from even attempting to load.
The issue is in camd.library, and has been corrected. version 53.3 is in the pipeline, and will be released by the usual channels after suitable testing.
Again, thanks everyone for your cooperation.
Lyle
