How to enable dma and set correct time?

Hi,

As the topic said, how do you know or check if dma is enabled on a sam460ex? Also would like to set the time correctly. An easy explanation guide would be very greatful!

Concerning DMA, I cannot help but concerning clock/time, I have found a small tool that get the correct date/clock from Internet and you can add it in the S:network-startup

DMA is not supported with onboard controller (but a driver is WIP). regards the time you can set it using internet in the Date/Time prefs using an NTP server

You can check if DMA is enabled on a device with idetool. Here is how it works here but you have to change ide device name of your machine:

The advantage of yFacts is that it'll run in the background and keep the clock in sync. The DATE SERVER PREFS solution only runs once on startup (as does putting yFacts into s:network-startup).

True.

I solved that myself by not actually calling it directly from Network-Startup, but instead calling a script (S:GetSaveTime) containing the "C:Date SERVER PREFS" line followed by a "C:SetClock SAVE".

The same script is also executed regularly by Docket.

Do you really need to stay perfectly synchronised?
For me doing it once on system startup is more than enough

Well, at the moment "regularly" is once every 24 hours (I'm running my A1 24/7). More than that I probably don't need. But not doing it would become noticable in very few days.

That reminds me, I should probably update that tool again. Much has changed since I last changed it.

In that case, please don't forget considering to add a shorter period option than daily - I'd like to e.g. be able to run my time sync every 3 or 6 hours (without having to add a separate entry for each execution hour).

P.S. I know I said two posts ago that I probably don't need the sync done more often than once a day. But that doesn't mean I don't want it done more often .
