The new design is
App --> printer.device --> gutenprint --> port
However the new design requires a new prefs system. :)

@328gts Just so people know I'm still alive lol. No I have not stopped working on gutenprint just merely slowed down a bit for two reasons. 1 I've been busy at work and 2 I got it working with my printers so I need to go buy another one which I don't already have to get me a bit more motivated again. ;D

@terminilis
I haven't seen it in this thread and it's quite buried in the big thread about PPaint over at
Amigaworld.net Quote:
terminilis: I know. that is why I dropped aos4 support in my gutenprint port. AOS 3.1, morphos and AROS were easier actually they required almost no changes. too bad :-/

@Raziel I'm not saying it won't work. Just that I won't be testing nor bug fixing it personally.

@terminills Hopefully it will work. Usually I find that if something crashes on one platform, it's due to a bug even if it doesn't happen to visibly manifest itself on any other platform. So it's useful to get it working crash-free everywhere it runs for stability purposes.

@terminills I don't think you can get detailed crash logs from grim repair if the program is 680x0. (Stack trace with named functions.)
