Thinking that we could post amiwest news here.

Trevor said that the x1000 will be sold as both complete system, aswell as only motherboard.
The cyrus+ will hopefully start betatesting beginning of next year. Will come with 3(?) different cpu options. Should be cheaper than the x1000.

Now don't get me wrong, it's great there's more new hardware for our favourite OS but I wonder if money could have been spent to pay full time developers to give us the much needed software/ drivers we need now ?

Also, I doubt that the a few extra dollars to pay for shipping a full X1000 is seriously going to affect a potential buyers decision. Anyhow it'll be interesting to see the different case systems.

A-EON announced a pile of items at AmiWest earlier today, including:

* $1.2 million investment in new AmigaOne series
* full details on the new Cyrus-based systems
* details on the beta program for the Cyrus-based boards
* Ubuntu Live DVD for X1000 owners
* new sound card for 68K-based Amigas

you can read it all via their press releases here.

several people have said they only want to buy the motherboard. lets hope they do now.
if you have suitable spare parts at home, you could save some on buying only the motherboard.

No offense but It is pretty easy to sit back and say where the money could be spent when it is not your money.

There is also a chicken and egg problem here when it comes to Amiga hardware. Developers need to know there is a steady supply of new h/w and tech.

Yes, the netbook project is officially cancelled.

For the record, it was not cancelled until a few week ago. They just couldn't work with the supplier to get a reasonable price point. It is a real shame considering it already booted AmigaOS so we lost that time/effort investment.

Any news about Warp3D driver? I know it is AEon project but I have got an impression that due to the fact Gallium3D is getting closer to release date maybe, just maybe you have decided to cancel it?

One more question Do you consider some kind of upgrade path for the AOS4.1 owners? I think it's much harder to decide to buy a new system now while you know a newer, payable version is around the corner.

@samo79

Agreed but it was meant to be a stop-gap solution while we waiting for Gallium so maybe it's less important now when Gallium is almost done...

The project is important for the compatibility with current Warp3D games/programs in case you want to run them on a Radeon HD card, Gallium is another best

So we need both

Don't know if Gallium is really almost done, even Warp3D for the Radeon HD seems almost done according to the rumors, but for now we haven't seen anythings tangible so still waiting and see ..

Let them rest in peace...
I think there are more important things, but its OT here...

I knew, I was not precise enough
I meant each day we are closer to Gallium release the less important is to have Warp3D drivers...
