Hi Guys, Anyone know what steps I need to take in order to get Nightlong to run under OS4.1 (if possible??). (You might see quite a few of these pop up as I try to get more and more of my stuff running). Regards, AmigaMark

Step one. Buy a classic 060/RTG amiga unless you already have one...
I don't have Nightlong but I've never heard of anyone running it on OS4.
That should ensure you get hundreds of replies just to prove me wrong

I have the impression that unported/fixed "3.x" ppc games tend to work pretty unreliably on OS4 directly, with the possible exception of classic systems. But I understand the allure of trying.

Works fine for me. If the tips by utri007 don't work, let me know and I'll have a look at my installation.

I have the 1.1 PPC but seems I may have deleted 1.2 PPC can anyone remember what the difference is? I think it had something to do with 16 bit but was never stable on system, only 1.1 was stable.

Didn't the game support just 16 bit screens? 1.2 was probably using different endianness (le?).

There were three PPC executable for nightlong. The first version the sound would drop out after a short while. The second version fix the sound problem. The third version I think had 16 bit screenmode or it may of had screenmode 800x600,but will need someone to confirm what the third version contain,as I have lost the last version deleted in error.

@all Even with RTG master and update installed the game crashes, something to do with Ramlib. Any one else experienced this?

@AmigaMark As there is noone around having the source code to fix it...no, it probably wouldn't help. One can only hope that this game gets either a proper WHDLoad patch sometime or someone REs the exe and fixes the limitations

@TiredOfLife Was still having trouble, so I basically wiped my hard drive and reinstalled the OS and applied all the updates, as I think something was playing up. Haven't got round yet to re-trying running it yet thought, but I will let you know.

I have found nightlong 1.2 PPC & 68k on a old hard drive. When I have time I will see what the difference is,but im take I wild guess and say its probably 800x600 screenmode added.
