Mikey_C : Thanks for this thread, Huno deserves that. And with this DVD, I also really appreciate the common effort (Huno, K-L, Lio, Elwood, ... and ACube!).

Like abalaban, I am not sure I will play so many games but at least, I wanted to celebrate the launch of this DVD.

yes Startrek is really faster at 1024x768x32 with all details max.
I tested IoQuake3 Huno peorts and gave me +10fps compared with old version.

Look like France make good amigaOs programmers Zzd10h ;)

Yep, altrough IoQuake 3 still a bit slower compared to the "hacked" m3x version, however Huno already have the latest m3x's code so i hope he can merge them for the next release

Well,

Star Treek and ioQuake 3 are not on the DVD (they are on Huno's site) but there are many other games on the DVD

yes because IoQuake3 suffered with same M3x problems crash in the MainScreen and in console section during timedemo .

I Think huno just implement the use of libbostygfx on ioquake3 and fast recompile it ... But libbostygfx difference is really hi on my system 10 fps more than before and this means is about 34% more faster ;)

10+ FPS compared to what version ?
The Capehill's version i presume ? .. however here the difference between the two are not too high ..

On my little SamFlex 800 I got 15.8 FPS (at 640*480 + Max details) while the Huno version give me 18.6 FPS using the same settings, so 3 more FPS only ..

With the m3x version instead i'm nearly 21 FPS, again with the same settings

IoQuake i dont know what version is , M3x for sure not because will crash to not 44x machie this is the difference :

My config is a Peggy 1266 Radeon 9000pro

IoQuake3 other 800x600 AmigaOs4 = 25.7 fps

IoQuake3 Huno 800x600 = 35,9 fps

Huno's IoQuake 3 makes use of Altivec (as World Of Padman, Star Trek, Smokin' Guns) so the difference will be more important on G4/PA6 machines than on non Altivec ones.

Altivec is interesting only in some applications. For others, there is no interest

Teen4wolf altivec optimized is really more faster compared with generic on g4 g5 ... Same is with basilisk ii ... On morphos there is 4x speed compared with live4it last port. Plus i see better performances on mplayer altivec compared with generic same is for avlib ... Result better do altivec :P

Strange Behavior! menu lock or freeze in Ioquake3 go away. when I
