Latest XE version is 1.1.1 from 05/03/2005
You can get it at the Hyperion download site

Debian Linux 2.5.4.1 is the latest "official" (albeit there are lots of alpha/beta kernels on the Hyperion Linux only forums in the works)
The Debian installation guide can be found together with the kernel as download at the A-EON Tech download site (Support/Downloads)

You need to be registered for both to be able to access them

Yes, it's a nice little workhorse, still have mine set up and running from time to time

In regard to the RadeonHD card...well, how do i put it...it might not work unfortunately :-/

* See below

If you try, use the smallest one first (if you get it to run you can always switch to the bigger ones

The soundcard should run out of the box with the driver from OS4Depot

Quote:

A sil 3512

The sil3512...i don't remember but i believe that HDDs on this chip will *not* be able to boot due to missing support in slbv2.
I'd leave that card out until you have everything else set up and running and then try...

Quote:

A dlink USB 2.0 port

Spare every USB add-on until you got everything else running, the XE is known to be flaky with USB stuff.

OK, first of all, just for the start, if you got more than one RAM modul and/or more than 1 GB, take one of the modules/everything that goes over 1 GB RAM out (My XE gave me headaches until i found out it can't cope with more than 1 GB RAM)

* If you need help you gotta ask best on HDR's forums, where you are already a member i see

Just to add my negative findings to that matter.
I have a DMA and USB fixed XE.
It doesn't let me install a RadeonHD card, because it will freeze on loading the USB drivers.
No matter what i did i couldn't get it to run.
I stripped down the machine to it's bare minimum and even disabled hardware (both USB) in UBoot, yet to no avail.
The thing was that USB, together with DMA AND the network stack killed the RadeonHD initialization. (I'm upto this day not sure if not maybe the hardware fix was/is the culprit)

I got it to work once i disabled all the three :-/
But i refrained from using the HD card, because i could live without DMA and even USB, but not without web access.

So...i wish you luck that you don't have the same problems

Just ask if you want to know anything

i test the 3 video cards, an all i can see the uboot and the loading kiks layout modules but after the Kickstarts will not initialized...

i disabled all the usb and pull off all the boards... but in the 3 case the same results.

Now i will try to reinstall the OS4 just because i have the feeling that something is missed.. wil see soon...

How to know if the machine is dma fixed?

Do you have the RadeonHD.chip installed (in SYS:kickstart drawer)?
http://www.a-eon.com/?page=radeonhd

http://hdrlab.org.nz/projects/amiga-os-4-projects/radeonhd-driver/

MODEL - RADEONHD VERSION - SATUS

AmigaOne XE (Unfixed) - 0.7 - Working
-33 MHz slot only; UBoot does not detect the card properly when plugged into the 66 MHz slot.

AmigaOne XE (with DMA fix) - 0.7 - Partial
-USB must be disabled or the machine will freeze. The DMA fix appears to cause a hard lockup when large amounts of data (e.g., bitmaps) are sent over the bus and USB is active (possibly a conflict with USB DMA transfers)

@jabirulo

Thanks for reminding me
Yes, you cannot use two gfx card in the XE (because the 33MHz slot can't be used and the other slot holds only one card)

Thats a bummer :-/
You may want to use a serial cable to Redirect serial output to be able to see whats going on.

You do have PCIGraphics.card in your Devs:Monitors/?
And you did follow the steps from A-EON's Dual Graphics Card guide?
EDIT: The above is probably moot as you can't use two gfx boards anyway

I'm not sure... i know that were an extra cable soldered on the back of the board, but i don't know if it was done for the USB or DMA fix.

I don't think you can really tell if not through information from the first holder

Yes i have the Radeonhd drivers registered from Aeon
... About the dma fix i think is fixed because dont freeze with usb enabled ...
About the 33mhz pci i read about before starting the installation, if i put in 66mhz the card isnt inizialized and cant see nothing .

About the 2 cards ... i only put the radeonhd alone ...
In any case thanks probably only Mr Hans can help about :P

I'd open a new thread on the HDRLab forums about this, Hans is *the* man to help here

Does your cards have both VGA and DVI/HDMI?

Did you try to plug your monitor in both?

Do you have sound?
(Better yet, do you hear the boot jingle?)

Well, if the keyboard shows some life nothing is lost

Do you have PS2 or USB keyboards logged on?
I guess PS2 as you said you disabled USB?

Have you tried with the other gfx card output yet?

I try all but for the 4450 and 7750 only the dvi/hdmi out put free this because the GPU board are big + the Pcie-Pci adaptor the vga output come closed by the case.
The 6650 is a low profile and i can test there the VGA But for all the cards I had the same result...
Uboot showed, i can navigate the uboot menu and i can see the kickstart loading , keyboard blinking andafter nothing more...

Mr hans only can found the truth , I can only make the tests ;)

Note the 4450HD and 6650HD work on my 460ex , the 7750HD look like is not compatible with radeonhd or with Sam Hardware (but this one i test on a pc with adaptor pcie-pci and i can see win7 and do everything)

I guess UBoot sees it already, if not there's a thread at Hyperion.

And that you can't boot from that device i already told you in an earlier post

Eh? wt...
I thought the 1.1.4 firmware were only for SAM's?

Yes, it was started to fix some bugs and add the many missing features to uboot...as far as i know it's frozen (or dead?)
