I have minigl v2.5 on Depot installed & the Amiga port crashes my micro with os4.2. I re-installed minigl v2.2 & the game plays, slow, but plays.

Just for info. I've created a SuperTuxKart 0.8 backport from the OpenPandora port (http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=SuperTuxKart-ptitseb) for some weaker PowerPC/AltiVec computers.

It has taken us a rather long time for a minor release, but most of the developers have been rather busy with mentoring students for the “Google Summer of Code 2013”. On the other hand, we had many contributions from new developers: Dawid Gan tirelessly fixed bugs, making 0.8.1 the minor release with most bug fixes. Johannesr1 added shield functionality to bubblegum. Xenux added filtering of add-ons, Glenn De Jonghe saving of a Grand Prix (just abort a Grand Prix at the beginning of a race, later then restart the same Grand Prix again). Funto and Mohammad Al-Ghannam added a multi-player soccer mode.

You're right.

Requirements:

A-EON AmigaOne X1000 with AMD Radeon HD 4000, 5000, or 6000 Series (PCIe x16). OS: PPC-Linux e.g. MintPPC 11, Debian 7 PPC, Ubuntu 12.04 PPC with Gallium 0.4 or higher.

Hi all,

I've released a bug fix version of the static Linux AltiVec package. The reason was that the bluetooth lib has a dependency to glibc 2.15. Therefore, it doesn't run on Debian 7 and MintPPC 11. I've compilied the static version of the bluetooth lib into the STK binary. And now it runs on Debian 7 and MintPPC 11 with glibc 2.13.
Additional I have released a version for older Linux systems with glibc 2.11.1 or higher without AltiVec optimization. This version runs also on the Cyrus boards in the future.

Could you release Openpandora based version for Aos4? For those of us who have a warpd3D supported machine/GPU? In the other words, for me :D

IIRC, the biggest reason for Supertuxkart's poor performance with Warp3D was that pre-0.7 versions had no level-of-detail control (amongst other things), which is an important technique for getting good frame-rates with large scenes.

I'd be curious to know what improvements the latest versions bring, but being dependent on Irrlicht has stopped any attempt at an updated port so far.
