The ctrl+alt+s option is missing in the official sources when built against the native amiga graphics output (named amigfx in the source). It's missing the hotkeys for savestates as well. Trivia; The SDL output is called sdlgfx despite it having nothing to do with libsdl_gfx.

I sent you a PM.

This error usually happens when the program somehow jumps into a random memory address.

I will remove stopping the JIT compiling on this error later on, it is only for testing anyway. But among normal circumstances this must not happen.

I'm pretty sure it's normal that LEDs don't show up if using uaegfx. I remember it being that way on WinUAE.

"You need to make a 320x256 with Picasso96 settings in prefs"

Don't know how to do: there's a guide for this?

"Copy this in run-inuae"

Copy this where? You mean the uaerc config file?

thank you

sys:prefs/p96settings (or so), there you choice your board, create new item, manually write resolution, then drag&drop "new item" thing on the right top area of prefs, and then choice 256cols, 16 or 24 bits, as well as overscans/dblscans and co. In any time you can press "Test" to see if mode is visibly on monitor now. Once you will done with it and do "save/reboot", then in list of your screenmodes you will have new one.

The only problem with that p96 prefs can be to understand that you need "d&d" new item part on another part of prefs, while logical if it will be created automatically, but as prefs itself are quite old and abandoned, the only way to set all up its to understand that all. But once you done one time with, you will be able to create all kind of resolutions you need, and they all will appears in your screenmode requesters in all apps automatically and system itself will know that there is such modes present.

i just wrote about leds in rtg only for proof the jit was really working with os 3.9... and is incredible speedy! the unit access -rw and the icon visualization for every folder look like Os4.1 :) ...

when the complete jit will exit will be really fun :)

Right now with the not jit :
I can play perfect an Mp3 with Amplifier
I can play good Adoom
Quake2 running 8)
I play good video with Action

With jit only intuition programs works .. Mui and Reaction crash...

When it is done... will be really fun :)

Yeah i'm interested in 060 emulation in UAE JIT so I can run cool TBL, MAWI, and other 060 aga demos that require FPU and MMU! It would also be really cool to be able to run certain 68k apps at 060 speeds with FPU.

I do want to say that its very confusing all this many different types of UAE for OS4 (sdl, non sdl, run in uae, blah blah) also how the configs work. I really hope when final version of UAE JIT comes out that os4 team update the built in run in uae in os4.

Also, wasnt there a guy on Aw.net that made a nice front end for uae on os4?

Thanks guys

060 emulation is only possible without jit... the only way for have a real speed without jit enable will be use a G4 1.67ghz or an X1000 (problably)

I make some test with and without jit:
Right now without jit enabled you can have a 040 with fpu and all cache enabled on Xe 933 my best speed is 18mips (040@25mhz)...look like this new version is more faster compared with before version about 3x ... probably thanks to the last sdk.

With Jit enabled with an Xe 933 i have a 040 running at 38mips (060@50mhz)... im really courious to see how much will run Euae on my Peggy G4 1.266mhz i presume will be more of 50mips (060@75mhz)

When will done will be really fun!

PS: i test many games without jit and in rtg mode and...

DoomAttack rtgmaster c2p040 is great running
Quake is more playable compared with a reall amiga with a 040 and a Graphic board.
The same i have with AlienBreed 3d II with Rtg patch..

The virtual disk access (folders in os4) is 10x more faster compared with an Acard on CyberstormPPC with a 060@66mhz...

With Jit enabled... if the program is compatible and not crash the system become really really ultra fast!

My test and bugs of jit:
I know this an alfa version of Jit and i know will need work on it ... but this are the problem i found.

Jit = Ecs..
with the jit enabled the Workbench run in Ecs mode.
I test some programs running on workbench and you will have the max 32 colors
A doom look like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k99bqzuayaA
Note:this problems are only in workbench mode if you run an whdload or an adf AGA works

Key timing ... pushing a key on keyboard "in workbench" ...
make the key will repeted more times.

This problems are the same with an amiga 4000 with the timer circuit dead ... HC chips not working
Aga games works from floppy but workbench go max in 32colors 320x256

BoingBag 2 on os 3.9 is not compatible.. with and without jit.

Another big bug... if is possible fix the copy procedure inside the sys folder (if sys is a shared rw amigaos folder) ... because crashing the system and lock the dvd/cdrom units on the physical ide device

I have invested a bit on Pa-Semi, because have not gotten poor scores on my AmigaONE-X1000, compared to my older AmigaONE-XE G4.

There seams to be some issues slowing down the CPU emulation.

Googling around we found that “Mcrxr” is toxic on G5 cpu's, so I looked for it in EUAE, and there are few references too it, maybe this what causing slow down?

Quote:

Never, ever, ever use mcrxr on the G5. And this might well apply to some other POWER CPUs, by the way, even though it appears in IBM's documentation. Apple doesn't mention anywhere in their documentation I could find that mcrxr is software-emulated on the G5. Yikes! In fact, simply eliminating the use of this instruction was what restored the vast majority of our speed.

Well I've taken the time to test a little bit more E-UAE JIT and I then remembered why the sound is suttering with this version.

It has nothing to do with JIT, the main problem comes from the AmiGFX version of E-UAE.

Even if you use gfx_framerate=4, you'll end with sound suttering. It was already there with previous AmiGFX versions of E-UAE. When using the SDL version, there is no sound suttering at all.

You can test older releases of E-UAE by yourself :

http://os4depot.net/share/emulation/computer/e-uae-sdl.lha
and
http://os4depot.net/share/emulation/computer/e-uae-amigfx.lha

You'll quickly understand what I mean (tested on my AmigaOne XE G4 1,26 Ghz and Sam440ep o/c at 733 Mhz and both have sound suttering with the AmiGFX version).

Would it be possible to use SDL instead of AmiGFX in future version of the JIT enabled UAE ?
