the latest update dates back to amiwest, unfortunately. but if you missed the update at that time, it's still available on the hyperion blog.

Well, OpenGL is only a specification so there is no update there.

We generally announce things via the development blog.

I think this "When it's done" malarkey should be renamed to "When they can be arsed to" :P

That's silly there's been plenty of updates to the OpenGL specification over the years. I guess you could call them "Versions".

So is WinSys the final element required to get Gallium's 3D drivers working on Amiga OS?

SSolie : Any way for me to become alpha/beta tester of Gallium3D ?
It can be useful for Hyperion because my main development uses OpenGL & 3D ...

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

AmiDark : How compatiable you version is with darkbasic? Will it make a possible to port al/or most of dark basic games/apps for OS4

sure there are update...

Approaching Zero Driver Overhead in OpenGL

AMD also introduced Mantle, so the approach to load other driver than Gallium is a good move.

utri007 :
AmiDARK Engine is based on the same "commands" & "functions" that the ones available in DarkBASIC Professional.
If the source code do not use :
- additional plugins
- shaders
- terrain
I think it should be possible to port it to AmiDARK Engine.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

How usefull AmiDark is in current form? If it is a useable, maybe you should port some games yourself just to demonstrate capabilities of AmiDark?

There a quite many nice game from year 2000 -> wich should work just fine even with lowest spec machines.

No in fact it seems to be the first step :-/
(just my point of view : I am not an os4 dev)
WinSys manage screen & textures allocation on the video card
So porting Gallium3D (even as software-only) need to have a screen to render

Mesa/Gallium3D with software rendering only has been reported to already exist on OS4 ... I suppose it is too slow to be available

"•Gallium : bumped to Mesa 9.1, i.e. OpenGL 3.1. Software renderer already implemented, work on hardware accelerated drivers within the framework of Gallium will benefit substantially by the experience gained developing Warp3D drivers for the AMD Radeon Evergreen range (Radeon HD 5xxx/6xxx)."

About WinSys functions more infos here ("pipe" mean "Gallium3D") :

When i read "framework of xxxxx will benefit substantially by the experience gained developing" , i just think "woah, how many words about nothing, just to make it sounds cool" :)

But hope someday it all will be on our hdds and will be faster than current minigl speed. Just its already take so long that i start to fear :)

Not at all, it means the fact that they worked on the cards already will make it easier to work on the gallium drivers, just as the fact that you have worked on Odyssey 1.9 / 1.16 eases work on 1.23

IDEA:

When gallium is "done", it would be cool if there was a bundle of PCI to PCIe adapter + RadeonHD + SW to use spare GPU VRAM as AOS4 swap drive.
