I compiled Flare 0.19 now (website
http://www.flarerpg.org/ ). But I'm not going to play it on my computer, so I need your help to see it's alright. You have either a fast system like X1000 or simply enough patience to actually play the game for a bit. Putting it through the various sections in 10 minutes is not really sufficient.
I don't know exactly how it compares with 0.17 or 0.18 performance wise, but the premise is the same and this build uses 2D SDL still.
PM or similar welcomed, ideally from a few persons. I want to hear if the one build already works - if not, I'm unlikely to do code changes.
OS4Depot has an
older version (sans the data) that performs alright on most systems, and my intention is again to not replace it. The data is still on sourceforge as far as I know.

@Thematic I have it installed on my system. Happy to give it a go if it is as simple as swapping the executables over.

Clarification, I meant sourceforge has all current and old datas. Each new version requires new data as far as the primary content is concerned. Save games though are simple enough that they may migrate.

I'm convinced, so will prepare a release.
edit: The 0.17 data is available from
github .com/clintbellanger/flare-game . If you want to
install that instead.

@ddni
same here. Very playable at 1280x1024 & getting more polished with each version
I see the character classes changed with this update so hopefully I can copy my characters stats over ??

I found my old saves were ok from a data point of view, but the character is rendered naked and headless! Looked so scary even the zombies ran away!

IIRC you need to manualy create a save drawer in the drawer where Flare is installed.

The installer should create the saves drawer for you.

@328gts Glad you got sorted. Yes the avatar makes me smile too. I made it a few years back as my MSN messenger avatar.
