does AmigaOS differentiate between the three? (of course it does)
how to insert the mentioned characters?

is the symbol which is on the "underscore" key a Hyphen or a Minus sign?

what about the sign on the numbers block? is it a Minus or Hyphen?

Unless you have a particularly crazy keymap, they are all the same ASCII character '-' (0x2D).

ok, thanx. I'm glad it is like that, it's so confusing "en"-dash, "em"-dash and all the variations.
Anyway is there a way to insert a dash (ASCII 173)?
