Definitely, this is the file which renders the loading screen:
https://github.com/timdetering/Homewor ... ster/src/Game/HorseRace.c

edit: Menu backgrounds have some issues too. On kas1e's second screenshot besides the missing triangles, you can see that there's no background for the menu at all.

Hello

after the glEnableClientState(GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY);
add a glDisableClientState(GL_COLOR_ARRAY);
It may help as it seems to want to draw the rect with a flat color

I can't see anything wrong with the hrDrawBackground() function, nor can I think of any reason why MiniGL wouldn't render it correctly. Maybe something called earlier sets an unusual OpenGL state.

It's probably related to the GL state, because the menu isn't buggy to begin with, it breaks after some gameplay.
There's also some issue with the GL_LINE_LOOP drawing. The lines sometimes get really thick, even tough glLineWidth is called before drawing them.

I remember playing Homeworld on my microA1, it had none of these problems. I think there was a port by afxgroup. But then I think he removed the port from his page.

@BSzili

Is it possible to re-port Freespace 2 ? Currently afxgroup's port doesn't work properly with Wazp3D.

Thanks.

If there was a port previously, then it's definitely possible, but I'm not very keen on duplicating someone else's work. Maybe you could persuade him to update his port, or share the source

I remember having an early version in 2008 and running on MicroA1, but I checked my archives and can't find the port. It is also not availabe in afxgroup's page.

I will PM afxgroup now if sourcecode is still available ?

(from memory)
FlightGear is open source. http://www.flightgear.org/
But to run a recent version requires too much computing resources. Also the dependency list is daunting.

(after looking)
FreeFalcon http://freefalcon.org/ is also heavy, and additionally DirectX stuff. So it seems the code is not portable in the expected sense.

FlightGear 1.x uses PLIB, just as TORCS so I could port that one, but it might be too demanding for the curent hardware. There's a Strike Commander rewrite in progress, that one might be a better fit: http://fabiensanglard.net/reverse_eng ... trike_commander/index.php

TFX sources exist, at least Charles Wallace has made some new beta exes http://hol.abime.net/1367

I remember that there was a some kind of generall flight sim engine, wich was meant to be amiga product and developer was still interested to amiga version? There was several mods to it with different airplanes??? Just can't remember name.

[edit]
It was a flightsimtoolkit, used to be here http://www.flightsimtoolkit.co.uk/ or http://www.adrianebrown.co.uk/flightsimtoolki

Adriane Brown was a member of amigaworld.net.

hi,

its been a while since I was posting, between work and the family not had much time to read the forums apart from using my amiga.

so I will open up to invitation again to all you cool programmers out there open for the challenge.

since this last posting about the above subject I've now managed not only to acquire the fly.exe (source code) but now also have the tools that are used to develop the sims, so any that wishes please get in touch.

as some of you have mentioned, just by porting the fly.exe it would give use hundreds of flight sims to play.

TFX was relased by Ocean and developed by DID, but since they both have disappered does anyone know who owns the rights so we can ask for the source code to port as well.

It took me a while, but I have partially working sound. The music, speech and UI sounds work, but the unit speech is still broken. I'll try to find the cause of the graphic glitches, and get back to it later.
