It looks like people are talking about different types of database systems. Belxjander is asking about SQL/NoSQL database servers/systems, which are used by developers (like him) to build database-driven applications. For example, my websites use MySQL databases to store the content, user info, etc.
By contrast, Superbase, MUIBase, MS Access & Open Office's database are designed for end-users and come with GUIs for data entry and searching. While useful, they're not what Belxjander is looking for. He's looking for a "database engine," not a "database application/management-system."
