Last problem : changint from £ to Euro: i see only one £ sign on the AmiStore shopping bag page, & clicking upon it does not change anything
Log in to AMIStore Go to any item you haven't bought yet and hover over the price A little arrow (up or down) will show up, click on that to cycle through €, £ or U$D
I was able to modify the urlopen browser setting & to modifty the currency.
Paying still not possible : after hitting checkout on the shopping bag page, Odyssey too presents me with an empty page while i get the messag on the Amistore window
"checkout : waiting for funds, please complete payment in browser."

I got the message aswell.
If you have finished your PayPal payment all is well, AMIStore doesn't pick it up for some reasons (yet?)
You need to log out and in again, then your "Balance" should be filled with the amount you used in PayPal.
Now go to your shopping bag and checkout...worked for me this way
I ended up turning off javascript in netsurf, reloading the page and the paypal page loads and allows me to log in and pay. Just bought the 2.4 driver and within a few seconds of clicking pay, Amistore showed the credit. I too got a blank page using Odyssey.

I was never able to reach a Paypall page Logging out and in does not change anything. I do have a working paypal account. My balance = 0 on the Amistore account, but i guess this is not my paypal account which has not even been contacted before "checkout"
When i hit checkout and urlopen asks me to chose i select Odyssey browser. Without meddling with the javascript preferences Odyssey open on its "about" window & nothing happens. The same is true when i disable javascript . As i noted that disabling with setting/javascript support is not saved, i also disabled it in preferences/javascropt support. UrlOpen starts up a new odyssey anyway
I have tried replacing in URL prefs ODYSSEY with ODYSSEYLAUNCHER but then even with all other browsers disable urlopen uses Netsurf.
Investigating from a Snoopy log (very long file) i selected lines referring to A-EON
Yes, NetSurf's Javascript support is very primitive. You're better off running with it switched off, and only switching it on if a page needs it. Further development of that is on hold pending various things (new layout engine, different JS library, etc).

The fact that you are not seeing the about window indicates you haven't got your URL prefs for Odyssey set up properly.
Strangely enough when I just tested, I also didn't ge offered oddysey, as I had not updated the https section.
After chnageing that from OWB to Odyssey though it worked correctly.
So follow thefollowing:
Test if an https: connection works in URLOpen.
At the command line type:
URLOPen "https/foo.bar.com"
- Is Odyssey offered in the options on th URL requester?
|
|--- YES -> Choose it.
| |
| | -- Does Odysey open with https:foo.bar.com in ther URL bar and give an SSL error?
| |
| | --- YES -> There is may be bug in AmiStore (I'm 95% sure this is not the case)
| |
| | --- NO -> You have something wrong in your URL Prefs
| Got to the Prefs/URL program.
| Choose HTTPS tag Check there is an entry for ODYSSEY (There ought to be if you got here ....)
| Set the Command Line format to
|
| "*"https://%s*""
|
| Including all quotes.
| SAVE
|
| Problem should now be solved , retry in AmiStore.
|
|
|--- NO -> YOU have no entry for Odyssey in the HTTPS tab or have never run the program.
Open Prefs/URL
If an entry for oddysey does exit tick it if untcicked edit it match the following if not
create an entry by clicking Add new client.
Client Name: Odyssey
Client Path: AppDir:Odyssey
ComandLine Format "*"https://%s*""
SAVE and retest in AmiStore.

That is just plain weird ODYSSEYLAUNCHER just puts up a splash screen, no idea why it not built in, restor it to appdir:odyssey
As I have problems with Odyssey and https, I tried your example to check it via URL prefs. This is what I got when tried to test "https://foo.bar.com":
"SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK."
Any ideas?

It sounds like your SSL certificate database is out of date (or missing?). Probably the easiest thing to try would be to download and install the latest Odyssey.
I have had similar problems, but found a solution. It is a crazy workaround, but it works.
When I first tried to purchase something through AmiStore, it opened up Netsurf and displayed the payment website. When I clicked the button to pay with Paypal, it opened up a blank page.
I modified URL prefs to use ODYSSEY | APPDIR:ODYSSEY | "*"https://%s*"" and disabled Netsurf.
When I tried to purchase through Amistore using Odyssey, it opened the Odyssey about page. I switched URL prefs back to use Netsurf, and clicked to purchase Radeon 2.4 in Amistore. I then highlighted and copied the address from Netsurf and closed it. I opened Odyssey and pasted the address in Odyssey. I clicked to pay with Paypal and got the message that my browser did not accept cookies. I opened up Odyssey's prefs and made sure cookies were in fact enabled. I tried to pay with Paypal again... no cookie support. So...
I once again selected Radeon 2.4 in Amistore, copied the address from Netsurf, pasted it in Odyssey, clicked to pay with paypal, copied the address from Odyssey, closed Odyssey, opened Timberwolf, pasted the address in Timberwolf and finally got to Paypal where I paid for the Radeon driver.
Whew! There has got to be an easier way of doing this!
PS: All of the above mentioned browsers are up to date.

I noticed that tab did not save the preferences. When Odyssey ended up on the about page, I did go back into URL prefs to make sure everything was in order (including the s at the end of https).
I do wonder if my setup is to blame. Instead of using the "Internet" drawer in my system partition, I have my web browsers on my work partition. I'm pretty sure I have all assigns pointing to them, but after a few updates, I noticed that Timberwolf and Odyssey had been reinstalled on my system partition. If I can't find out exactly what is going on, I'm sure it will be solved by installing OS4.1 final 8^)
