WB icon to switch screenmodes.
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Hi all I want to create a script and icon that can sit on my WB to allow a double click switch between my RadeonHD card and 9250.

Just wanted to check two things. Does this already exist?
If not, does anyone want to give me a hand, as I do not really know where to start! ;)

Thanks.

Funny, in the next version of SysMon, I made a screenmode switcher.

If it doesn( still exist, maybe that I could make a CLI version where you specify 2 Display ModeID to switch between each other ?

Cool! A docky to switch between two predefined screenmodes would be even better....

or It could be simply a WB command (with tooltypes) that you start from AmiDock.

Ah, a easy solution still existed...

@ddni
but in the meantime, I made a little program maybe faster to switch between 2 resolutions.

(Allan, I sent it you by mail, put it in your SysMon drawer and add it where you want, in a dock for example)

In the tooltype, you have to specify the 2 screenmode modeID that you want to switch.

And, after, by clicking on it, the screenmode will switch according to the current mode (if current is A, switch to B, if current is B, switch to A and if current is X, switch to A).

Specify the hexa Screen modeID (that you can find in Prefs/Screenmode and/or in next SysMon)

and it will switch, notify the little Ringhio notification in upper right corner n (of course, the "modes d'affichage window will not be displayed).

edit : just, take care after have switched, the Ringhio notification will stay displayed for few seconds. During this few seconds, the screen switch will be blocked by Ringhio, therefore don't switch too faster !

(or double-click on the notification to remove it)

Attached are 2 small programs,

swapmonitor: brings the first screen of a different card to the front, on a two monitor setup this just jumps the mouse from one monitor to the other.

swapscreen: this cycles through only the screens on the active card/monitor when executed.

You could use an icon to run them but they're cli only and designed to be run from fkey, allkeys etc.

Use DICPNG on os4depot to extract the lha from the above picture.

They are written in amiblitz, source code is tiny, if anyone wants to port them to OS4 native I will supply the source.

Ps. I hate the new amigans website. <shudder>

Thank you Guillaume!
Your program works perfectly. It makes changing screenmode to the 9250 much faster. Definitely needed as frequently changing to the 9250 to run 3D programs was a chore when using screenmode prefs.

@Severin,

Thanks I will look at your programs too.
