The project is dead unless Solie and the team find the time to pickup from where it was abandoned.

The source should be made public since nobody has worked on it for a long time.

Solie has the code from the Friedens and has said he was going to put together a team but that was a loooooooong time ago. If there is someone in the community who has the time and skills necessary to take it on I hope they approach the Friedens for the source code.

Timberwolf is awesome I just wish it was up to date so the latest plugins work and that it has hardware acceleration.

Timberwolf is a nice browser that looks and works like Internet Explorer. I'd prefer it to any of the others available. But it is sooooo sloooowwww that it is unusable. Why is it sooooo sloooowwwww?

@GarbageOut
Because Timberwolf was never optimised much, and so is effectively always running in "debug mode". The (pretty sensible) idea being they wanted to get rid of all bugs, before introducing more when they optimised it. Sadly this means that even if only one pixel changes, it has to redraw the whole page! So only powerful CPUs (or patient people) need apply...

It might not be this, but you have to install the first version first - if you get the latest version from OS4Depot you don't get all of the required files to run.

@thread

The last I read IIRC was the ssolie thought that since we have a modern browser now in Odyssey, there were other projects that would benefit from the time spent on them rather than another browser which would largely reproduce what Odyssey alreay does.

but we have not the latest version and lacks optimization in the viedo part...
Anyone know if kas1e will port also latest version and/or maybe add some optimisations?

you mean browser itself ? If so, we have latest one for which sources are available.

If there will be new sources, then why not.

Nope (at least i didn't see any), and as far as i can see, 1.24 is not so important at now, as it was released right after 1.23, and have no big changes or too much new core. Probably if fab will make now 1.25 (or later), then porting that one will make sense for sure.

Yep expecially if they finally complete the PPC JIT support, but no news for now

Aniway while we wait it might worth to continue with the "interim" release, some little bugs still in current 1.23 and would be nice to have them fixed while we wait for a new snapshot of Odyssey !
