How do we know SMTube doesn't already use the v3 API? It has probably been around for quite some time.

Software developer for Amiga OS3 and OS4.
Develops for OnyxSoft and the Amiga using E and C and occasionally C++

I see...to difficult to port it to OS4? If rvn uses it as much easyer on Linux it cant be easyer also for us? Or too much dependecies?

I tried in 2013 but too much freezes when opening windows or others actions.
I didn't investigated more because SMTube was easier and very useful.

Maybe that it will be interesting to try again when/if rvm modify it

Old screenshots of SMPlayer under OS4 :

EDIT : it seems that not only SMPlayer will be supported by the next SMTube version of rvm, follow the end of this thread

Interesting..
bytheway...was so difficult add youtube support to your nice WebReplay? Was youtube so different from any other vdeo site that you already support?

It seems SMTube needs an update, youtube does not work since yesterday night (it only shows a video of supported devices). Althouth it plays via Odyssey.

Just tried it. Despite knowing about the impending cessation of support, I am really disappointed to see such a great program killed like this.

This is great! Looking forward to further developments. Is it likely or out of the question that the saving of videos still will be a feature? Thanks!

According to rvm reply
http://forum.smplayer.info/viewtopic. ... =4&t=7992&start=10#p13659

"No, there won't be any option to download videos. By using the Youtube API 3 I have to abide to their terms which don't allow to download videos.
However you will be able to configure smtube to open the URLs with any application, you can download them using an external application. In this video you can see how I download a video using uget: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwdmuO_0X5c
"

Nevertheless, I have added a DownloadVideo.rexx menu.

I will see if Ricardo accepts it... Hoping...

The only reason to ever use SMTube is the download feature! YouTube trying to stop videos from being downloadable has always been a contentious issue. I think the law stinks really on that - if you have the right to stream you should automatically have the right to download as it is in fact one in the same thing!

"The only reason to ever use SMTube is the download feature!"

Not for me, one of the reasons to use SMTube is to avoid to use slow youtube rendering on Odyssey.

SMTube allows to stream at full speed over MPlayer, it's, for me, the main feature. Only my opînion, of course.
