well have had my 7950 on my Workbench (physical type lol) ready for awhile now but no spare time but hoping to find time in the next week SO before I put my 6870 on the IRL I just want to make sure I have all in order:

1- have OS4.1FE installed with all latest AmiUpdates.

2- already bought the latest drivers from Hans/A-Eon so I'm assuming I just need to purchase and install the Warp3D driver while my 6870 is installed.

3- install 7950, reboot

anything I'm missing??

btw, happy VD long weekend to my fellow Canuck Amigans

Sounds good.
I just installed the warp3d drivers. And then replaced my 6970 with a 7970. And everything worked like a charm.
Ofcourse i had the latest radeonhd driver installed.

It's the "Southern Islands" driver for Warp3D, or W3D_SI for short. That's the codename for the GPU series that are supported.

Just look for Warp3D in the Amistore. AFAIK, there's only one Warp3D driver on there.

Just a question. Do you have to change the monitors in devs? I'm asking because I have left the one I had before (Radeon HD 6570).

If you haven't changed your display in the meantime you can leave the monitor file alone...hence the name Monitor file

There will still be the Radeon 6xxx information in, but since nothing in AmigaOS4.1 FE seems to pick this information up it's as good as leaving the whole file be.

It should run out of the box

2D driver is the same. You just swap the card out. The Warp3D driver can be installed before or after you swap cards over because the HD7000 series card isn't dependent on the Warpd3D drriveer being installed.
