How to make Quake II HD rendering work flawlessly :

1° Follow the readme regarding which files to copy and where
2° Do NOT modify the TOOLTYPE of the icon (mus be on Shell and not Workbench)
3° A 1st launch, press ESC when youu see the 1st cinematic in order to configure your options

It should work right away then.

Tested on AmigaONE X1000 with Radeon HD 9250 128 Bits and PCI<->PCI-E 66Mhz adapter in 1024x768 :

map demo1.dm2 : 19,1 FPS
map demo2.dm2 : 19,2 FPS

I got that if I ran the icon with workbench tooltype. Running it with shell tooltype was ok.

The game works now, but I must change some options in the .conf file. The souns options for exemple : ahi speed at 88. If I let 22 and 16 bits => DSI error
Now, it works, but I can't change the resolution because if I do that, my system freezes.

@Spectre 660
Here, With a Henvy24HT sound card, I must put 88 or higher to get the music not slowing down during the game.
48 is not enough for my conf.
I put 178 and it works very well in 1024x768 too.
How can I get fps ?
Thanks

Yes this version of Quake II works on Sam460 and SM502 set to 48 Khz, if you let it to 22 you'll get a DSI

It crashes and takes the system with it if I change the video settings to not sync every frame OR set resolution to 1920x1080

Edit:

Huno may not see all these reports and praise.
So I started a new thread at his official forum.

http://hunoppc.amiga-projects.net/content/quakeii-hd

Don't forget to email bugs to him at nouvel.hugues(AT)free.fr

I have also problems with 1920x1080. It crashes sometime on exit but i can continue with it, however it can hang the system sometime in the gui/video or at exit.

About this settings. Is that like rate ? for example 48khz ? If so then i better enable it myself on x1000 for my ESI Juli@
set ahi_speed "48"
