Well this is my first post, with a good news : the machine arrives, and a not-so-good news : it seams to have been damaged during transport (front broken) because, well, it doesn't boot
I'm completely lost before this "alien" technology. I don't know what to do, or how to diagnose the problem(s). So here is the story :
1. A big red box arrives this morning, chanting "bling, gling, gling"
2. I opened the box and I noticed the "broken" front : the bottom of the plastic front has been "forced-in".
3. "things" where playing around inside of the case, so I opened it, fixed the freed WiFi card and the dislocated drive support.
4. I plugged a keyboard, a mouse, a monitor and a cable for power. Pressed the power button. And... nothing. Leds flashes when I turn the machine on, but nothing else happens : the DVD drive doesn't respond, the fan on the CPU doesn't move, nothing is displayed on the monitor...
That's quite sad, I'm very embarrassed toward Aldur, whom have been so nice to send me its computer.
I hate the post offices that get away with such rude methods...
If not even the fan on the cpu spins, than the mainboard has no power.
Check: 1. If the PSU is switched on (obviously) on the back of your case 2. If the power cable from the PSU to the mobo is dislocated, check if wires are broken 3. Try to replace the PSU with some other brand if nothing helps
@Aldur
Not that i want to put you down, i mean, one learns from his faults, but IF you send out a case, make sure all loose parts are packed solely with MUCH stuf around it and tape it to the bottom of the case, so, they can't (as in this sad case) fly around and damage the mobo.
First off, welcome! Then, in addition to what Raziel said, you should also unplug all the stuff that is not strictly necessary: DVD drives, network cards, etc.
I really hope this good deed by Aldur will lead to a wonderful ending! Respect to Aldur!
Hello Gofomiel, try to find an A1 owner near you that can help you by connecting to the Annuaire Amiga francophone, else I think you are near Toulouse, may be Rose can (Amont Informatique) can help, I don't know... You can try to remove the battery for a few seconds... Also remove everything except the mouse, keyboard and hard drive.
Yep you are right, but AFAIK TheRealVoxel don't have an A1 (only A4000s IIRC) and I'm not sure if Krabob still has his A1. But a call on the a1france might be a good idea... If only he can get registered... I guess he should contact either Rose, either XRay as they are the list administrators.
that also depends on the motivation of Gofromiel to be helped !
maybe we could ask ourselves on the list and on amigapower as well but Gogromiel himself should be part of the discussion and I doubt he is on any of these mailing lists.
Only chance is to either contact him directly or through amigaimpact where he is appearing from time to time.
Sorry everybody for my late reply. I'm on holiday and I FINALY got an access to a computer ! I'll be home later this week to try to "repair" the AOne. I'll let you know how it goes.
I'm finally home, my hands in the AOne. And thats not pretty : the power bloc is dead, the DVD drive too, but at least the board works !! Yea yea ! I'm soooo relieved ! I'll go to the store as soon as possible to buy a new power bloc, a dvd drive and a little HD.
but at least the board works !! Yea yea ! I'm soooo relieved !
Congrats!!! (one less dead A1 , sounds bad, but anyway)

FINALLY ! The AOne is up and running ! I've just installed OS4. I'm now looking for updates and a way to connect the PC to the AOne in order to shared Feelin's sources, which are hosted on my PC.
I'm very excited
BTW : A little update for Feelin is available on its website :
