Thank you for your help. I made the changes and things, at least initially, seem to be working OK.
I made these changes that this would fix a problem that I'm having when playing Speed Dream 2.0 in which the rear mirror view only show vertical lines, and the map a white background with two colored dots.
The game not always start right since sometimes it crashes my computer.
Is this something related to the configuration of my monitor output, or is it just a known problem with that game?
ya I did already try with my FE DVD but same thing...I gave away my old 4650 and 6850 so all I've got now is my 7950.
Think all i need to do is replace the 'lite' driver on the FE disk with my new driver then all should be good to boot me in and then I can go make my changes
update: just sent off email to amigakit to send me over the updated drivers so i can insert them into my bootable dvd.
well it's always good to have a spare old flat screen around
As Amigakit & others said the bootable OS4.1FE CD has a standard built in mini driver that 'should' work on all monitors to get going BUT in my case I was still getting the black scrren with 'out of range' error. So today I dug up my old 'spare' 15" flat screen that fortunately had both a DVI & vga connector and voila MyX1k booted up the FE bootable and I was able to go into settings and click the 'automatically set monitor modes' and all fine now
that sounds great.. i was wondering if you needed a new gfx card. but thats good it turned out working. i wonder if new amiga user would have managed that?
