Amidock gone

Addign a file to Amidock prefs , it ended up with Amodock not showing up anymore.

I can see Amidock loading some initial bar, but then the "preferred" bar does not show up.

What can i do?

I did find the prefs file envarc:sys/Amidock.Amiga.xml file, deleted manually the last file added, rebooted: same result
Replaced the file with a much older crude version: Amidock shows up.

To fix the broken prefs, i think there is an xml editor in our system (ome prefs?)
Where is it?

If you use SFS filesystem maybe you can check the recycle dir for an older saved version of the xml file ? If its not overwritten :)

It is not opverriden, & still existing, just is broken.

I am copying/pasting now with Notepad all the items in the broken prefs to an older but working one.

I hoped the editor would point me to the problem lines, but that does not seem the case.

I also picked up a better backup of the Amidock xml file , so in fact i am ok with this on.
Still

- i just made a normal add to Amidock
- & Amidock disappeared.

If you want to see where the xml is broken then cut and paste the file into an xml validator online.

Ok as a last resort you could always copy it from your nightly/weekly backups.
