No cause is lost if there is but one fool left to fight for it.

@Mikey_C Shame that, maybe we could have just all met and had a conflab anyway. Some of us need some experts to look over their systems just to make sure we are not doing anything stupid. I have particular mental blocks when it comes to configuring software.(some would say i`m just mental)
Sheesh Swisso, there is no way you are worse than me! Heck I'm so bad developers come to me to final road test their software. As I have said before, if its Mikey C proof, its anything proof!

I second that, I have had some seriously appreciated help, at previous big bash's.
One thing I have bever been able to set up is EUAE, and yet I supposedly have all the components, I also have Amiga forever installed on my laptop (I know!! wash my mouth with soap) but have not upgraded to either OS3.5, or 3.9.
yep... And I might need help re-setting up my SDK Install ! It keeps crashing and I cannot even compile Reverzy anymore ...
@Swoop The first time I installed E-UAE on my A1XE I had some display problems which Rudei helped me to solve (at a 3-Cag)... But since I re-installed it a few times with no problem... So I might be able to help you...

If OS4 for Classic goes ahead, then a December get together could be on the cards. We could hire the BB usual venue and have a session, without the furore of a show.

@Rudei I think a December Big Bash would be a *very* bad idea, because there is no way to know whether the release of OS4 Classic will happen on 30th November as planned, or if legal shenanigans will delay it a bit.
Given the problem with previous Amiga shows (inc BB) being a let-down because of failure of anything to show, I really would recommend playing it cautious - such as not committing any money to a new BB until OS4 Classic is actually definitely available to buy.
Thing about big bash is thats its evolved into a more of a gathering of minds than a chance to buy and try. Once a year people get to meet up chat a feel part of the community, rather than just an online member. Were all getting older, most of us were kids when we started on this road, now were adults with full time jobs and responsibilities. BB gives you the opportunity to embrace those playground days for one day.
I wasn't suggesting a BB style show, I was suggesting a User Group Meeting without all the hype and (sometimes) disappointment a show can generate.
Several people here now have expressed an interest in having some help with their OS4 issues - if you schedule something for around say the 8th/9th December, OS4 Classic may be out, but people with AmigaOne issues, Pegasos related issues, Classic issues, whatever could still attend even if OS4 Classic was not released.
We could ask for some representatives from some companies to attend, without giving all the impetus and hyping the meeting out of proportion. They might turn up, but we don't make any promises or promote such so people are not disappointed. Costs would be less because we are hiring a hall, not going mad with prizes, promotion etc.
It's just an idea that's all, I understand the pitfalls of putting your eggs in one basket and relying on an OS4 Classic release, but there are still plenty of things one can do at a meeting like this, and as Jurassic says, it's about the people and sometimes the nostalgia too. I don't expect Amiga in any guise to be a world dominating product, it's still about the community for me and has been for a long time and I, for one, need a reminder of what that is about - too much negativity been flying round here this year!
@Rudei Solid thinking Rudei, maybe a date in Jan or Feb might suit people more. Some may not get their OS4 until Christmas Day or maybe an extension to the area club meets if there are OS4 beta testers present maybe they would lend a hand or oversee those of us who are not so knowledgeable.
