Are you going to make it different and have talk spots? Maybe allow site members to interact with the DJs not via IRC but the site or to skype you online. Or is it just music?
It would be interesting to tune into something that was actually going to talk about the products, have the developers being interviewed and maybe users reviewing games. Even one show a week would be worth listening to if it contained that.
Something relevant, something like LBC or Radio 5 in England.
By having wholly original content you wouldn't have copyright problems.
The court case is like a thunderstorm after a long humid summer.
Will require some planning though (quite a bit of it).
Only problem with that is I couldn't even get anyone to post "Their Playlist" on AwR so getting people to participate in a skype phone in might prove a tad difficult.
Er wouldn't want that! I was thinking, sort of like, get someone to do an interview with, and recieve the questions from listeners via email or something.
The show goes out at 8pm, GMT every Friday and is repeated at 4am GMT every Saturday for the Aussies and Zealers.
The show format:
1. Recorded: Recap, news items of the week - record and tack onto the front at 5pm GMT every Friday. Announce at the start that users can call in while the news items are on and they will be in the next part of the show ( live ). Lasting 5 minutes in total, maybe two people discussing the news ( Outcast? Mikey_C? ) and inviting opinions on a specific item.
2. If callers have called in by 8.05pm then (a) cue live section of discussion and debate with the caller(s). If not, cue prerecorded alternative (b)
(a) Live: Divide up time equally, maybe allow them to conference call.
(b) Recorded: Precorded item, maybe reviews, maybe music. This bit is disposable.
3. Recorded: 8.15-8.25 - Interview recorded earlier in the week with a developer, figure, personality. Or if no interview a workshop talking about something ( Mac on Amiga? Samba? ).
4. Recorded: 8.25-8.30 Repeat of the news recap, announce at the start that while the news items are on callers can call in on a topic for the second live segment of the show. Maybe the second part is a workshop, or inviting comments in the interview.
5. 8.30-8.45 If callers have called in by 8.30pm then (a) live section if not (b) prerecorded alternative.
(a) Live: Divide up time equally
(b) Recorded: Some prerecorded item, disposable if you get live chat.
6. 8.45-9.00 Recorded: More prerecorded content, maybe some music, regular spot ( os4depot game reviews? items from the internet? Look at other platforms, the industry, general items ).
The repeat would just be a record of the live show.

On shows with live call in bits show producers are more on hand to filter out nutballs and to move the show on if the presenter is getting bogged down.
Sometimes it is good to let the nutballs go on a bit before cutting them off.
A final thought, always record the content a week in advance ( apart from topical items ) to give you a chance to do a run through with the interviewee, recut it, and do a dummy run of the show. So do interviews on the weekend, Monday or Tuesday at latest, aim to get a version out for the Weds/Thurs ready for play on the Friday.
