[SAM] AmigaOS4.1 & DVPlayer

I tried to use DVPlayer from my fresh Sam440ep + AmigaOS 4.1 install.
When I try to launch a video DVD (using menu Open DVD), I get Grim Reaper with DSI Error
I tried to upgrade the dvd plugin to the one available in www.OS4depot.net and with this one, DVPlayer does not crash but nothing happen when I open a Video DVD.
If I open manually a file in the DVD with Menu OPEN, I get a read/write error ...

Ok here with Sam and 4.1 together.

Have you downloaded the plugin from OS4Depot?
Replaces one currently already installed.

DvPlayer (registered) works for me, at least with Region 0 discs. I haven't yet been able to play any Region 1/2 discs, even though my drive is region free (it gets stuck saying it is opening the Menu) - not sure what to do about that.

Yes with SAM440ep and AOS4.1. I didn't install any plugin from aos4depot.net. So, I guess, that DVD was not encrypted. I just gave it a quick try and i could playback all tracks of the DVD and fastforward to some position in the movie. I had no error with DVPlayer. But SAM is not fast enough to enjoy watching DVDs anyway.

There are some audio codes needed as well.
If memory serves, I had to do both to stop the crashing.

DVD playing of films worked ok for me, not brilliant mind.

@Swoop : No because it was Pre-Installed with AmigaOS 4.1
If it's pre-installed, it should work as it is ...
I will check the readme for installation steps and override AmigaOS 4.1 installation for this product.

Pre-installed?

are we talking about the version that comes with OS4.1? If so, its not the full version.

@Mikey_C : yes it is ... from what I've heard the bugs they've founded did only concern 3D render and not the softwares and their installation ... not ?

I think MikeyC was refering to the following.

From the DvPlayer pdf:-
Quote:
DvPlayer OS4 SE can play the following video formats:
MPEG-1/2 video streams
MPEG-1/2 system streams
VideoCD and SVCD
DVD video
The full, registered version of DvPlayer supports the following additional formats:
AVI files (e.g. DivX, XVID, etc.)
ASF and WMV files (Microsoft Video)
But, as long as you install the audio codecs and the libdvd plugin, DvPlayer should be fully functional for DVD's.

Yes I've seen this but my tests were on commercial DVD that should theorically be supported by the AmigaOS SE version or DVPlayer ;)
