I've always been a strong believer in the "that OS that shall not be named" Bounty System.
It gives users a chance to donate, and developers something to work towards! Plus, the more the bounty, the more those said developers know how much interest there is in a particular area and have confidence to develop a program that can be upgraded as time goes on, maybe with updates for a small fee! Sort of like an ongoing income.
A FAQ and an Articles sections would be nice. It would be good to summarize all questions which are repeated often, and the users doesn't have to dig the whole forum/site.
Also maybe an area with a few Source Codes (or links to Source Codes) which would "required" porting to AOS4.
Free Source Code for example or also "negociated" source code (a bit like I negociated with some Developer to allow me to port their Code to AOS4...)
Also a "For Sale & Wanted Skills Board"... Where a dev could for example ask for a designer, or a designer offer his/her services to developers ?... OK, the "For Sale" is not the exact word... Maybe something like "To Let" or maybe just "Available / Wanted Skills board"?
// Sometimes I'm thinking that it could be nice if the Amiga Community "get back" Amiga Stuff... Meaning, negociating with remains/successors/owner/whatever of Amiga Development (like Games and Apps) which are not being looked after, and "buy it back" to allow the Community to build a Repository of Amiga Develpment, and also allow developer to port those old Apps, Games to AOS4 native... Let's imagine contacting Delphine and "buy back" the game FlashBack for example so a developer could port it and update it on AOS4 ? Even if it's then to resell it...
// OK, I might need more sleep !...

Just remember this everyone. Our primary goal is to be a friendly helpfull amiga website and that is what we are going to try our best to accomplish. However we do not have all the time in the world to spend on developing features, amigans are getting older getting families, jobs and other commitments. So even while the staff feels that we want to do as much as possible as soon as possible, it may not happen as fast as one might wish. This site will grow slow or fast depending on the time and motivation of our staff members. Just be patient and things will happen eventually.
But first and primarily we want to provide you all with a nice calm helpfull place to be! :)
EDIT: Amigans.net bug? I posted this message twice by mistake (IB yellow alert when clicking on "Submit", and it seems I clicked again), but my post count is still 1, when it should show 2. In my profile I can see two posts -including this one-, but post count shows 1.
