while I'm waiting for Hyperions web page to get back up again so i can download the update.... was wondering as I have 3 partitions if I just have to delete the info on my boot up partition containing AmigaOS and leave the other 2 alone when installing the new UPDATE? or is it recommended to delete all partitions on the drive and start from scratch (ie. partition & format HD etc.) with the new UPDATE CD?

@328gts It should be quite sufficient to only clear your system partition (Workbench: or System: whatever you called it). I assume the other two are Work: and swap? The swap partition is just a scratchpad sort of thing anyway, and its format hasn't changed. Your Work: partition should contain all your 3rd party applications and your data etc., and there is no need to touch those. But please make a backup of your boot partition e.g. somewhere on Work:, or even better, on a USB stick or CD-R something, so you can refer to it afterwards when setting up your system again. E.g. it might be a good idea to copy your S:User-Startup over to the new installation. Best regards, Niels

@328gts You have install the update on a clean partition. There's no need to format any partition where you are not installing the update. Remeber to backup stuff on your system partition before formatting if you have 3rd party stuff or customisations you want to keep (S:user-startup etc)

@broadblues Amiga and 3D Graphics represent my youth and finally they can be my present again (well 3D still is but without Amiga, to me at least, is like having sex with a plastic doll ^__^). You cannot believe how exited I am to start editing polygon meshes on Amiga OS once again!!!.

I don't have a CD writer in my AmigaOne, so can it be unpacked and burnt on a windows machine?

@Akiko Yes, of course. The CD image is a standard ISO9660 with rockridge extensions. Any burning package should handle it. Simon

Few questions on the update... 1. Is there an option to keep the old style Icons ? Or do I have to copy them back manually ? 2. Does CrossDos with USB Media work proberly now ?

@gerograph You have to copy them over. Mind though that you'll lose any tool types that 4.1u1 might or might not need unless you only copy the images.
