KinCon (sp?)... I run it from the docky... Run SH to compile some code with gcc. Then type exit to quit SH, and then "endcli"... It closes fine, but give me a GR 99% of the time ! I believe it does the same even if I don't run SH...
I'm running AOS4_Upd4 on my A1XE-G4.
(I'm not in front of it at the moment...)

Defender of my A1XE-G4 / AOS4 Final Update ! Looking for a new toy ? Then try a GP2X...
Randomly when I have an AmigaGuide running in Multiview when I try to open a new one using the Project/Open menu in the Titlebar it will lock up the entire system. I'm running OS4_up4 on an unfixed 800Mhz A1-XE.
I'm using CLI from docky. I have kingcon too, and typing sh, and compiling a lot. Then I'm exiting and no problems. But I never had the same before. Maybe you should add "stack 500000" to your shell-startup, just like I did. Does it helps?
Here is something about the rewriteable dvd handling:
- make sure dvdmrw: is mounted - put an e.g. nero-formatted DVD+RW in to the drive - a cd icon will pop up... - run Sys:system/formatcdrw - use quick format on the disk - formatting takes some time... - a new disk icon is showing
and the problem is: the old icon of the disk does not disappear until an eject.
No, I did not leaved any disk window opened.
Please try it on a beta system and share your foundings with us.
- the commodity "autoinfo" (contribution on pre1) prevents the workbench from closing when you change a sreenmode - same goes for screenblanker engine (fixed afaik?) - "newrename" (also a contribution) does not display the filename correcly sometimes or does not update the cursor at all
I think we should put this as a side feature if you are willing to run it.
either via a seperate heading on the left or via its own forum.
Well done!

Yup, wonderful idea. And maybe collect it into a FAQ list, Q and A stuff? Should be handy, better than going throuyght the thread for final solutions/workaround... And even call it "AOS4 Knowldgebase" or smthng?

This is known about, I can't remember if it's fixed or not, but for now you can either eject/reload the disc or use the diskchange command if the icon really bugs you...
lazi wrote: Start calculator from a command line and iconify. The icon image of the iconifyed Calculator is the default tool icon instead of the program's icon.
Correct, that's because you started a WB app from shell which has a differnt startup system. what you must do if you want to iconify it is cd to utilities and run it, that way calculator has the correct current dir to find it's icon.
or if your in a cli use the eval command and don't run cvalculator at all
another option is a script eg.
set currentdir `cd` cd sys:utilities run <>nil: calculator cd $currentdir

Now that KingCON is being discussed... this is not a problem report, but a feature request:
I would really like to have an advanced shell, like MUICon on MorphOS. KingCON is nice, but often I have 3-4 shell windows open and it becomes quite an effort to shuffle them around, so there a nice tabbed feature like MUICon has would be very useful for me. This is one of the areas which are very well covered in MorphOS, but are lacking in OS4. Is anyone working on something like this, or has some spare time to do it?
I have this weird problem. If I use IBrowse for a while and then quit, the system goes into "slow motion mode". If I open other applications (or even IBrowse) after that, their loading times are much longer. If I start a movie clip with Mplayer, it loads much slower and playback studders a lot. Basicly, any disk operation done with the machine takes a lot of time (like DMA would suddenly be swithed off).
The problem goes away if I warm boot the machine. Nothing crashes, so there are no crash logs to examine. Any ideas what could cause this phenomenon?
Machine is unfixed A1-XE-G4@800 MHz, 512 MB RAM, SiI0680, Radeon 7000, Soundblaster Live running OS4 Pre-Release Update 4 and IBrowse 2.3.
