Small video of Candi stuff by Aeon

Yes it needs a lot of CPU power
I'm sure there will be further optimized

What video card was used?

look Forward to the next update, there are made some improvements to lower the cpu usage.

The CPU usage depends much on the number of Icons you have on the workbench. Also the gfx Card is important.

I use a RadeonHD 5450, low entry Card, on my sam460 and have a cpu usage around 50 percent. Same Computer with HD 6670 -> around 25 percent. It depends on the fill rate of the gfx card.

Note: Candi goes to sleep if the CPU is needed, it runs in low priority. So if you use other Software, you should not have speed issues.

Next update will reduce your cpu load, look Forward to it in amistore ;)

If i understand correctly Candi was done using some specific features of the RadeonHD's driver, so a question: in the future it will be possible to adapt Candi to make it working also under a good old Radeon 92x0 ?

It is on a RadeonHD6950. With this card Olrick gfxbench2D stats are at the top of the list.

Look at the CPU usage in the Workbench title bar.

@samo79: we never tried it because our Radeon 92xx in the x1000 is broken. One Problem will be the fillrate and maybe also the Speed from the pci bus.

Great. At moment is the update not in Amistore available.
Maybe tomorrow...

I just got the new version, very nice with the candles.
To download I just went to my purchases and downloaded Candi again.

With the Candle background, Odyssey running and Tunenet playing some mp3's im getting 20% cpu usage on a 460.

Bring on Radiance!

Thanks for the new version ! New themes are wonderful. Stars theme for late night sessions. Candles are great. Especially use it when dating with girls. Or the first time you don't have to shutdown your computers when having a candle light evening with your wife.

It's great the WBPattern settings are restored after quitting Candi now.

Feature requests for future versions:
I agree with Antique, playing videos as backdrops would be nice.

Also it would be nice if I could use my own backdrops behind Candi animations.
