Video about installing fresh AmigaOS3.2 on AmigaOS4.1 on my x5000 via EUAE with JIT enabled. It includes receiving, unpacking, installing, finetuning, testing, etc. Working screen mode 1920x1080x32 + all the hacks and patches, so can be interesting for everyone who wants to emulate OS3.2 and 68k software on AmigaOS4.1
Very impressive. It is great to see such high screen resolution, and so much happening on the screen.
Obviously, the X5000 is much more powerful than my ancient OS4 system. I am limited by system RAM and VRAM.
I created two AmigaOS 3.2 emulations on my MicroA1.
First one is very simple ... A2000HD with 68000 CPU, 1MB chipram, 8MB fastram, OCS, NTSC. I use standard icons, because the GlowIcons look chunky.
Second emulation takes alot of RAM on my system ... Configured for 68020/68881, KickA1200.rom, 2MB chipmem, 8MB fastmem, 8MB gfx memory, uaegfx and Picasso96. I use the GlowIcons, but it would look better with a higher screen resolution. Currently using uaegfx 640×480 32 bit. 1024×768 32 bit looks nice but takes way more RAM.
@redfox Yeah, x5000 feels like a modern enough computer. It is for sure is much much faster than my old pegasos2. And not _that_ but still faster than my sam460 1.1ghz as well.
When I set up uae on x5000 i even didn't think about any restrictions in terms of configuration - all configs works.
@kas1e The video is awesome. Thanks for doing it. I have a question though. Why emulated 68040 and not 68020? I am thinking that the later would save you a few more cycles, but I might be wrong.
I loved the video. I have a setup on my machine as well, which works flawlessly. I plan to use it for development when I will work to port MediaVault to OS3.
Wasn't there a very well written tutorial here in the forum on how to emulate AmigaOs3.2.x with the help of E-Uae on NG machines? I also interested in it and unfortunately can't find it anymore.
The video is good

Yesterday I spent some time with E-UAE and AmigaOs3.2, the integration of the CDRom works directly and I had no problems with the installation. I created the HDF as you can see in the video.
I followed your video but I have a problem, it tells me that my hdf disk is Not a dos disk?
What happens when you format the virtual hard drive under emulation?

How did you do to boot on a partition or an adf to be able to install Os 3.2?
Thanks for your help.
He copied the AmigaOS3.2 CD to a drawer / directory on his hard drive, then he modified the .uaerc file in order to have that directory mounted as a virtual Hard drive. e-uae booted from that "drive".
You could skip the copy of the CD and use it to boot e-uae:
filesystem2=rw,DH1:AmigaOS3.2CD:AmigaOS3.2CD:,0 or filesystem=rw,AmigaOS3.2CD:AmigaOS3.2CD:
I got Amiga OS3.2 ISO with update 3.2.2.1, E-UAE-SDL version:0.8.29 and along with its EasyUAE GUI version:1.6 installed successfully.
I can load EasyUAE GUI fine.
I can load amiga OS 3.2.2.1 kick a1200 rom splash screen fine.
I can also load its install disk fine too.
However I am having problems getting a virtual hard drive created.
Within EasyUAE GUI create hard drive wizard, its is unable to create an os3.2.hdf file for me with this permission alert within the Amiga shell showing below:
5.AmigaOS4:MyFiles/E-UAE_GUI> uae Rexx port "UAE" installed. E-UAE 0.8.29 Build date: Jul 12 2014 17:03:54 Found 0 joysticks Opening cfgfile '.uaerc'...failed Timebase frequency: 49.995000 MHz Failed to open hardfile with write permission. Trying as read-only
That it, no further error message after that, any ideas how to successfully create an amiga virtual hard drive file via EasyUAE?
