Ok, i will try this.

I have copied my OS4.0 interface (with static connection) to
devs/netinterfaces in OS4.1 and put "run >nil:" in front of the
addnetinterfaces-line and commented the line on.

Reboot.

Ok, now it booted in to the OS4.1 workbench but hangs, the pointer is
in the top left corner and cannot be moved.

Again due to the eth3com.device that is set in my netinterface-file.

Now i have to reboot with the OS4.1 CD and comment out the
addnetinterfaces line because ontherwise i can not go into OS4.1 anymore.

Ok, back into OS4.1.

It is with great pleasure that i anounce that the network
problem is solved under OS4.1.

Thanks to Frank-H from the Belgian Amiga Club ( www.amigaclub.be ).

It is he that remembered that the SE had problems with usb and ethernet.
So, he suggested to me to comment out all usb-related stuff in de kicklayout.
And you know what? It worked !!!

Now i have my network back in OS4.1 as i had it in OS4.0.

Thanks again to Frank and a big hip-hip-hoeree. :))

Good news so the difference was XE vs SE.

Good trip into OS4.1.

I installed AmigaOS 4.1 last night. First change was to add the "Run >nil:" command in front of addinterface, because I use DHCP with my router.

Works like a charm now.
