@Raziel Because it will works for all the windowses, but i like as it now. That is only need for AmiDock, because it's a bit hard to activate it with no pressing on any icon.
Btw, maybe it possible to setup for AutoPoint in tooltypes something like "autopoint only for that programm" ?
Some of us not have drag bar visibly on amidock (i am for example). Because without it looks more stilish. With dragbar not problems here with that, i agree.
I can't stress enough how important USB 2.0 support is. Common NEC, VIA, ALI etc chipsets must be supported. Another important thing is support for >2GB RAM total (physical RAM + SWAP). But, at least the USB thing should be available the soonest possible, maybe as a quickfix and not wait for the next full update. I wish we would get Firewire support, at least for mass storage devices, but that's unlikely I guess.
If looks at the last 2 years, i believe next update will be or after 4-6 monts, or, when x1000 sales will starts. Personally for me more important its work over AmiDock with addint nasty effects and icon scalling :) I know that usb2.0 are important, but related to me, all my usb devices works already fine, so, i even do not know what is uses 1.1 or 2.0, it just works :)
well, it's just that I have many external usb disks and without usb 2 support, their transfers are about 1/10th - 1/20th of what they would be. As I have a large collection of videos and music on those disks, streaming off them is also jerky sometimes without usb 2 speeds. Icon scaling and highlighting on mouseover are important as well, but as they were already mentioned I focused on other matters. I had to manually resize quite a few icons to look ok on the amidock while scaling would've solved this automagically!
I believe when the new graphic subsystem is ready to set a new standard in AmigaOS, especially when using the new AmigaOne X1000 platform, Amidock might as well undergo a complete changeover in look and feel..
I'm sure Hyperion know what is necessary to do..
Soon to own a powerful AmigaOne X1000 with latest AmigaOS 4.1 incarnation ;) Dual Core PPC!
A minor "bug": The screen blanker still runs when the monitor is in power saving mode. (You can tell by the CPU meter.) Would be better if it didn't run (less likely to cause problems, lower power usage, reduced wear on harddisk/fans, etc).
On PianetaAmiga2009 some ppls show some beta-versions of new amiga shell (i mean that shell, which you can spawn by "newcli" command, or by typing "shell", etc). And that improved shell have by default scroll buffer, scroll bar and such important thinks (which we have when add KingCon to system for now).
I would also like to vote for scalable AmiDock, scrollable shell and improved clockdockie. Maybe the clockdockie could have options for transparency and digital.
Also in Printer prefs there doesn't seem to be a way to change the size of the printable graphics area. I printed some PDFs and part of the bottoms were cut off.
Also I noticed IconEdit is still there (beautiful icon for that), but it doesn't handle the newer (OS4.0 and higher) icons. It doesn't seem to serve any purpose as is. If it's too hard to make a 'real' icon editor maybe you should remove it altogether.
I hope it doesn't sound like we're complaining. We're just trying to improve the next version of our beloved Amiga OS!
