I use FTPMount (on OS4 now, and OS3.x in the past) for most FTP access and really enjoy the ability to treat FTP site as dirs on my computer:
- Drag-and-drop files and directories
- Use shell/ARexx scripting
It has weaknesses, like file type scanning (Tip: turn DefIcons OFF! That will eliminate the file type scan delay).

FTPMount seems to perform a direct remote file move if that command is issued from the shell, without copying the files to your computer! About 12 years ago I had to rearrange files on an FTP server at the office using Win98 & WsFTP. The down-upload copy-and-delete was very slow, even with a T-1 line. That evening I decided to test FTPMount and scripted a "move source to dest" for the whole dir tree. It ran quickly on my 56k dial-up connection. Conclusion: the files weren't up/downloaded through my Amiga.

- JCC
