I just installed AmiCygnix on my shiny new machine.

Amicygnix was OK on my overclocked Peg II but it is now so much better! Netsurf and the Gimp are now very useable.

Why does AmiCygnix/lxpanel ask me for .Xdefaults assign? I've tried assigning it to some directories inside the AmiCygnix tree and end up with lxpanel launching nothing at all from the menus.

Basically this is a path conversion problem - lxpanel seems to mix up an amiga style and an Unix style path. Although this is a bug in lxpanel, the reason is mostly a broken AmiCygnix installation (the program is searching for something, that doen't exist). It's hard to say, what it is. The file ".Xdefaults" doen't exist in a standard AmiCygnix installation. Maybe a directory in the search path is missing.
I suggest to use "Snoopy" to test this.
