It seems a bit faster and smoother now. I noticed the screen shots on the OWB web page are of the first version which had the built in address book, is this function going to return at some point rather than using a limited external program?

Eh?
Limited?

What features do you miss with PEB's AddressBook?
Just drop him a mail and ask for implementation, i did. He's a great chap and does requests in a second.

btw, a new version is being worked on and it will be updated as long as there is request ... why not just mail him and ask for support on your missing (limiting) features?

Has anyone who has use OWB on facebook tried to use the chat system? as I have been able to open a window and type but when I press return to enter the text nothing happens.

I'd point towards missing Javascript (OWB IS missing Javascript, isn't it?)

OWB supports javascript, of course (NetSurf doesn't yet)

Did you see that GrumpyOldMan did post a crashlog of 2.15 and it's indeed elf.library which is crashing.

Might be the reason of all those _start crashes some people (ME!!!!) is having.
Which you already suggested here

Ah, always mixing the two... hmm, then it's probably bad JS/HTML code or parts are JAVA(?)

Does it happen for you only while the page is still loading as well?

my system is basically a4k with csppc, mediator and voodoo if that is of any importance.
Are you using the AmigaOS 4.x Voodoo driver or the Elbox one?

only that memory thirst worries me somehow. wouldnt that make sense to implement some kind of privately managed page file like clarissa or photoshop are using?
No, it's working with the pager of AmigaOS 4.1.

No, it's not related at all since OWB 2.15 is statically linked.

He seems to use OWBLauncher for starting OWB, but using it for starting OWB 2.15 works without problems here.

i suppose so. afterwards i had once a hangup after i just clicked into the window while it was loading amigans page. unfortunatelly i use elbox drivers since i need the access to pci tv and network card. i see, now and then these drivers fail but mostly the problems are not critical.

all in all i think the problem is the same the other people had on classic.

Request:

If at all possible to implement, given the time constraints of the
OS4 coders, I would like to be able to see the version number somewhere in
the OWB program, since there are so many releases.

---

Simple solution:

Where it says "Origyn Web Browser" in the Workbench title menu,
can you suffix it with "v2.15 (2008-11-24)". With the relevant version
number and the release date.

or the more work solution:

A simple About window in the Project menu.
Either with the OWB image or without it. And with version information
in it.

Either way, I would really appriciate it.

Thanks

Kotler

Both solutions are welcome IMHO

I get a different DSI if I start the OWB from its own icon (not through QWBLauncher). I'll submit the log to OS4Depot crashlog soon.

Like with previous crash, if I ignore the DSI OWB loads and works without problems.

In the meantime, "version OWB" from a shell prompt in the right directory will tell you what version you're running, I believe....

... though yes, I agree, it'd be nice to have a little "about" window!

Just use Icon/info and select version.

Works for me.

Thanks for the tips on looking up the Version number.

But, I still think it would be a good idea to
implement it in OWB.
