Because of the occasional lock-ups I have been getting, I thought the problem may be down to the SBLive card I have in my A1, It was supplied by Eyetech as a complete system, so I assumed it should just work.
I have therefore installed the via686b driver from Os4depot (big thanks Dave), however I have mixed results with it.
Using the SBLive I can play Mp3's from my hard drive using multiview, AmigAmp and Tunenet, I can also play CD's using PlayCD, and do not have any problems with the music playing in the background whilst continuing to us emy A1 for other things, such as browsing, using wordsworth, pagestream, or even Turbocalc.
However, using the onboard via686b, I am unable to hear any sounds using Tunenet, although it appears to be playing the track. PlayCD doesn't play from CD, but if I copy the track to my hard drive multiview will play it, as will AmigaAmp. I can also play Mp3's through AmigaAmp. The one draw back I have also noticed is that the music skips when I change pages in Ibrowse.
So my questions are, assuming I have given enough info above,
1. How do I get Tunenet to work with the onboard sound? 2. How do I get PlayCD to work with the onboard sound? 3. Is there some settings I can change to stop the track skipping, sound stopping really, when using IBrowse?
I know this is probbably a very old subject, but I just read about the SBLive as a possible source of system lockups, and thought I would try to see if the onboard sound cured it.
Thanks for any help.
