A500 to LCD Monitor
Just popping in
Just popping in

See User information
Hi

I have an A500 and a BenQ 19" TFT screen
Specs here:

Signal Analog: RGB
Digital: DVI
Frequency Horizontal: 57.6KHz - 82KHz
Vertical: 60KHz - 77KHz
Bandwidth 45-68.4 MHz
Input Connectors
1 x VGA - 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15)
1 x DVI-D

What are my options for hooking these two up?

Things I have seen include

A very simple connector 25pin-D to 15pin-VGA (this apparently only works if your monitor supports 15khz horiz)

A scandoubler like the indivision one at amigakit.com (this costs ?109 though which is too steep)

....
Any other suggestions?

With these frequencies there is no way to connect an Amiga. Are you sure these are the right specs ?

Without a scandoubler you'd get 15 kHz / 50 Hz, with scandoubler you get 30 kHz / 50 Hz. With a video scaler (about twice as expensive as a scandoubler) you'd get 30 kHz / 60 Hz. None of them is in the specs of this monitor.

You'd go better with an LCD TV with Scart input.

Bye,
Thomas

I suppose it depends on which particular BenQ 19" TFT it is. Here's another I found by a swift search.

Max Sync Rate (V x H) 76 Hz x 83 kHz
Video Bandwidth 135 MHz
