Network niggles (MSI router)
Just popping in

Howdo all,

not sure if this is the right Forum, but someone will surely shift if not !

I have my A1XE (OS4.1) networked via the native port to a router, to connect to Virgin Cable broadband via cable 'modem'.

The router is an MSI RG54SE II wifi router, Miggy is connected to port 1 via a cat5e cable.

The niggle is that the network connection never works properly from first power up - I have to do a hard reset*, and leave the router on for a few minutes to get it to work automatically. Unless someone has been online from the PC via the wifi dongle, in which case the A1 will seamlessly talk to the outside world from the off.

Any ideas ? or will I just have to live with it for buying cheap equipment ?

Ta muchly like !

*Holding Ctrl 'Amiga' 'Amiga' (ie: two windows keys, and the menu key) for 10s.

@agafaster

Hi, maybe your router gives priority to setting up wifi connections, hence the delay, until a wifi connects or a timeout occurs. How does your Amiga get it's "address", DHCP or static ? whichever it is try the other way, can you get to the routers webserver to look for possible priority settings.
Regards Richard.
