TFTPBOOT
Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to TFTP boot the AmigaOS 4.1 CDROM content, and if so, what the boot image should be.

(Sam)

So far failed experiments while I wait for my SATA DVD ROM drive:

1. Getting it to recognise an IDE drive off my SIL 680 card and boot that.
2. Getting it to recognise a DVD-R/W drive on a USB hub and boot that.

Probably just some annoying config error on my part, or just not finding the right information...

Failed experiment #3

Putting OS4 onto a 1GB usb key and trying to boot that via the usb hub (of course, if I take the hub out of the chain it at least doesn't dump a load of sh*t to the screen in uboot - but then I have no keyboard/mouse).

Re: TFTPBOOT
@Mark

Well it seems that its a real PITA to get OS4 booting under TFTP. The problem is it isn't a massive initrd style image, so even if I COULD boot something, the rest of the cd content would need to be on a local drive... somewhere.

So for anyone hitting this link looking for help on how to bypass a hardware problem with TFTP boot: DONT BOTHER
