Ok now that Cyborg released a nice GUI for E-UAE I have finally decided to try using the program...my question is what settings do I need to use to run my fav shooter 'Deluxe Galaga AGA'?? ..so far my attempts just give me a black screen
I tested right now whdload version of that game (deluxe galaga aga exactly), and it works fine. There is screenshot. And there is config which i use for.
yes thanks..the WHDLoad version does work ok but its slow on my Samflex@800 and the spaceship never dies?? i.e nothing can kill it & it won't pick up any bonuses???...though I just tried the stock settingas..later ill try with the setting s you sent & see if that helps..
Related to speed: In general with 800mhz it must be ok imho, but if it still not, then, just use full-screen mode with 320x240 or window not in 640x512, but 320x240. It will be faster 100%, but of course, only in full-screen playable, because play in 320x240 window are suck.
Related to untouched enemies/etc: i see the same problem in the game called "RoadKill AGA". Game works fine, but i never can get the bonuses, or fire to anyone. If i remember right, you say some time ago about the same problem with Cannon Fodder (like enemies don't fire on you). Imho (but i am not sure) it can be problems with collision level settings such as None, Sprites, Sprites&PlayFilerd and Full. But i am not sure of course, just need experiment with configs.
ok problem solved using glUAE! Just awesome program by saimo..game runs great on a smaller screen with in game music shut off (just sound effects on)...now I can finally enjoy my fav vertcial shooter again withoutn having to drag out my 1200
Imho, so easy and simply game as Galaga (even if it AGA), should works fine and smooth on 800mgz. You can try to set gfx_framerate=2 in the uae config. And maybe (it must be), it will works fast and fine even with music on.
thought I'd close up this old thread by saying I have Deluxe Galaga working absolutely great on my Samflex thanks to glUAE by saimo thanks again for the help Simone !
UnArc it on OS4, then with RunInUAE running, simply double click on it, to run! But if runs slowly, then for the first time only: Switch back to RunInUAE's window on Workbench, use the menu "E-UAE > Set frame skip to > 2" to get it to run at full speed, and then finally use the menu "E-UAE > Save frame skip" to store it, so you never need to set it again. (Who needs custom "Helpers" when it's this easy?:)

@328gts I'm afraid that Deluxe Galaga AGA still did not work right with the last alpha of RunInUAE, since I apparently didn't do enough testing. Problem was that collisions were not detected. Now fixed with the first beta release.
no worries as I mentioned I have been happily playing it on my Samflex for a while now using glUAE I, unfortunately had limited success with earlier versions of RunInUAE and now I am afraid to try the latest version as it might conflict with glUAE

While I don't use glUAE, looking at it's code I can't see how there could be any conflict. If you want to be extra-sure, then have a separate installation of E-UAE for RunInUAE. (Certainly you should use a different Workbench3.1 installation for RunInUAE, as that would likely clash.)
The only possible problem I can think of is that (AFAIK) glUAE has to modify a game to make it work (or does it create a new icon?), and this would probably stop the game working with RunInUAE. So you might need to install a second copy of a game, to try it with RunInUAE.
