What about the game SIN?
Not too shy to talk

Seeing that Hyperion Entertainment was forced to leave several big game projects behind, in order to work heavily on AmigaOS 4, the time has come to take up the question of porting some big, cool advanced games to 2 new Amiga hardware platforms - A1-X1000 and SAM460ex...

There is a great game on the game list at Hyperion Entertaiment's site, called SIN. This seems to be an
excellent advanced 3D shooter that would benefit
a lot from new more powerful Amiga-systems like
AmigaOne X1000 and SAM460, and the features
will be greatly improved when AmigaOS 4.2 is ready!

I really hope somebody can help Hyperion Entertainment to bring some of these great games to AmigaOne X1000 and
SAM460, as they will be more than powerful enough for
such games!

Please, bring us games like SIN.

Oh yes...it's starting to become many now. Sorry about that, but this one is very important..

Forgive my enthusiasm, but that is the reason why Amiga is so alive today. Because of great enthusiasm and spirit..

i remember reading somewhere some time ago their did port it to the amiga under OS3.x but it was to slow even on a Cyberstorm,so the game was never released.

we have now move on to OS4.x so maybe things may change for the better.

Well, at lot has changed since then, so it might be actual now. If not from Hyperion Entertainment, then surely from somebody else..

It might be possible now that there will be much more powerful Amiga systems...

Nothing has changed.
It's not about hardware power or missing features in the OS - there is simply nobody with time to port that game.

I guess you are right. Hyperion didn't have time, which is understandable...

Well, it's not entirely true that it's about how powerful the hardware is to run the game, as previous Amiga-systems where not powerful enough...

That part is changing now...

Now the question remains who will port this game..

Nothing changed because "previous Amiga-systems" are CyberstormPPC or BlizzardPPC cards running OS3.x in that case.

SIN is based on the Quake2 engine and the PC version has the following system requirements: 166MHz CPU, 32MB RAM, 2MB video card.

Every OS4.1 hardware has more than enough power to run that game...

SiN? No, no and no. This game isn't worthy of Monolith's legacy on fps games. I know, because I own, have played and finished them all on the pc platform. It isn't anything near Shogo M.A.D. (fantastic game). The NOLF (No One Lives Forever) series would be quite cool to have on the other hand.

SIN port was done before or just after OS4.0 was started.

i don``t know if the whole compete game was ported, but at the time it was said it was too slow on a Cyberstorm.

i think it was slow due to Artificial intelligence within the game.

can some please comfirm if the game has Artificial intelligence. thanks

My mistake. I'm sure you are right. OS4.1 are quite different than OS3 in many ways..
