ua1c freezing !!

I have a trouble with my "new" amiga one (gx revision). It freezes after working a few minutes. I tried almost everything I could (disconecting usbs, disconecting, cd-rw, different hdd cable, different power supply, booting from os4 cd) and nothing helped. What happens is picture dissapears, sometimes sound stays playing and I can reset with keyboard. I am suspecting the onboard graphics card. The heatsink on the graphics chip is much bigger than on my previous amiga one (fx) so it shouldn't be overheating. Does anyone has similar experiences?

Maybe the cpu fan/heatsink isnt right in place. Dont know really.

What happens if you just starts the machine and lets it stay on for a couple of hours without touching anything?

Could be bad memory, but again it could be many things really.

touch or not Amiga is freezing in 5-10 min!

This 512 mb is working in my old uA1c and dont have other for try..

If the machine freezes when nothing is running sounds like a hw problem to me.
I saw on trevors blog that ram reported to work did not work on his machine. but his machine wouldn't boot with those ram. So not quite sure what the problem is.
you could try to remove usb and network drivers from the kicklayout to see if that helps.

yeah is freezing all the times..I try load from OS4.1 cd and the same..try without netwrok the same... remove USB from uboot ... but nothing help..

Why not use your old motherboard with the new cpu module? iirc only your old cpu module was dead?

Dont have it anymore, send it to other Amiga user..

But Toaks will send another uA1c board and 256mb for testing..

Update about VooDoo's uA1c:
That Zalman was quite pain in the ass to remove. It's fastened with
two bolts which aren't quite accessible. Later I found out that it was
lot easier to remove if I remove fan first :) Under the heatsink
thermal grease didn't look too pretty. There seemed to be residues of
several different thermal greases. One of them was something like
artic silver 5 and it was all around the little smd capacitors surrounding
the core. I suspect it could be the reason for instability since afaik it
conducts electricity. I cleaned the thermal grease from cpu and
heatsink and applied small amount of arctic silver ceramique (which is
not conductive). I have also put little pads on cpu card beneath the
screws to protect the pcb. So far everything is working fine.
Temperature in
wb is same as before - 22°C and there are no more system freezes. I
hope it stays that way

From yesterday dont have any freezing...TuneNet is activ 0/24 and done some testing whit Quake3,OWB,Dynamite :)
