Is there any slim dvd drive with anti shock, that won't hickup if shaken a bit?

I thought most of the laptop slim drives could take a shake,
but I've never intentionally tested them to find out.

I've salvaged a lot of slim DVD drives from laptops,
but the trouble I have is finding ones with standard interface connections that will work in a desktop.

I would assume that being tolerant of vibration would be done with buffering.. if the buffer is long enough to keep data flowing while the laser gets "back on track".. then you're in luck!

You can probably buy an adapter.

@Rob
Yes you can buy adaptors. I have a Sony slotload slimline DVDRW in my X1000 connected via a sata adaptor:

The mounting bracket which cost me £21.12 when I bought it inc. delivery although they didn't rush, as for the adaptor, just browse ebay, there are hundreds there for only a couple of quid.

There's a used slimline slotload drive here for £12.90 with free delivery (UK).

There are adapters for 2 common interface standards, but for most of the drives I pulled, there are no adapters.
