MNG support in our browsers?
Just can't stay away

Do you know which/if our web browsers support the MNG video format?

Thanks

Out there it seems MNG is almost unknown See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MNG

Edit: I found a page talking abuot browsers here: http://www.libpng.org/pub/mng/mngapbr.html
Strange that they talk about old browsers but not newer ones :-/

Also this is the MNG test page: http://www.libmng.com/MNGsuite/

The page link you posted is for APNG support. APNG is a different format from MNG:

I tried the MNG test page with OWB 3.32 and TimberWolf 4.0.1RC3 and the MNG files don't seem to work in either browser.

Edit:
Just tried with Chrome/Firefox on my Ubuntu PC and they don't work there either.

Netsurf for AmiCygnix does support MNG.

NetSurf OS4 native supports MNG too, but as hardly anybody uses MNG, I don't bother building it in - the MNG datatype (which NetSurf will use if installed) is good enough for most purposes.

@Chris

The datatype is good enough? Then you don't use the same as me
The datatype on OS4depot says :"As a side-effect it also supports MNG (first frame only)"

One frame, not so nice for an animation format

Well, I've yet to see a single-frame MNG in the wild, let alone one that actually uses the animation features. Ergo the datatype is good enough for most situations (as you won't be viewing MNGs anyway).
