Me again (bet some of you are sick of me right about now).
Struggling to run Earth 2140.
I can launch the game in 800x600 mode and although menu screens are fine the game screen is a corrupted mess.
Although I have installed powerpc.library from WOSEmu, the WOS version still asks for powerpc.library version 7 when I try and launch.
A bit stuck what to do.
I am havving difficulties with a few other games, that other people have got working under OS4.1, so I am wondering if its time to back-up my stuff and wipe the hard drive and re-install the OS apply all updates and see what a fresh installation gives me.
If I remember rightly, there's an update/patch for Earth2140 which needs to be installed.
Then you need to run the 68k version, not the PPC native version (the 68k version runs like lightning with the JIT emulator, you'll be wishing it was slower, trust me!)
A quick Google... try here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=48975 post #18. Don't know if the link works, as I have an annoying proxy server to contend with from here.
It would never be on OS4 Depot anyway as it's not an OS4 related patch..
Hmm, I'm confused now, as I definitely own this game and I thought it was on CD, but I can't find it anywhere (or the update, I only have my installed version). I was going to create some new gpatch files but I can't do that now.
Tried using the files you sent me but unfortunatly I now dont get a picture at all. Both monitors indicate that the screen is out of range for some reason.
However, someone did point me in the direction of the updates on aw.net, but the wpatch program crashes so I cant actually patch the exe files.
I am just thinking it might be best just re-installing OS4.1 applying all updates and then trying to get it to run from a fresh install and see where I get to.

This is likely to be the frequency settings in your monitor icon tooltypes. If you select an 800x600 screen in Screenmode Prefs does the monitor display it correctly?
Now, after wiping hard drive and starting again and re-installing the game and using the patched files I can get the game to display OK in the lower resolution.
However if I try and run at 800x600, it skips the intro video (thankfully - as it hangs the game at this point with none patched files).
But again I can get the game launch screen fine, but then when I start a game the game itself is corrupted (looks like it tries to render a 1000 copies of the game over itself many times).
so I can at least get it to run, but would have preferred the higher resolution.
