I only miss 2 things:
1. PTP driver so that I can connect Canon cameras and access the files on their memory card :)
2. USB2.0 EHCI driver so that accessing memory sticks, etc. is not limited to <1MB/s speeds.

PTP.

An USB scanner driver could be useful too at some point, I guess.

I like the dazzle video digitiser. But to be useful editing tools would be needed. There are probably better ones available, but it is cheap at least (only up to SVHS though).

Scanners would be the other, but mine are old and I do not where that technology is these days, if we had good OCR it would compliment that.

A Dot4 compatible USB printer driver (usbprinter.device doesn't work with my printer)

Bluetooth or WLAN USB dongles. I don't have any use for these myself (yet), but the Bluetooth one might be handy for people syncing phones etc (WLAN is better served with a PCI card). However, it's a big project as you would need to write an entire Bluetooth stack as well as the USB driver...

Not exactly driver, but software that could enable using usb palmlike devices with amiga (maybe with spitfire? by replacing palmlink.library or related serial device?)

an USB missile launcher driver is part of the last (v3.6) Poseidon update

OK it's not for OS4 but it exists

BTW, yes, an usb scanner driver is necessary. and a Amiga twain implementation too will be cool

TWAIN support or SANE support?

@all

TWAIN is Windows and
SANE seems to be everything else,

Windows also has TWO variations, "STI" and "WIA"
in addition to BlueTooth and other support stack materials,

I would personally prefer the SANE solution since
reference drivers for BSD & Linux systems would then be available,
along with also *other* types of drivers

afaik someone is already working on sane-drivers and
sane-libs package support as part of the OpenOffice effort.

anyone care to correct me for the above?

1 scanner
2 graphics tablets (some work, loads don't)

For the scanners I think a parallel port wrapper like usbprinter.device is needed so that ADPro / ImageFX / ScanQuix etc. would think they where using a parallel scanner same as OS3.x

Or try fixing FXScan's usb drivers, Maybe IOSpirit will even let you have the source now they've dumped Amiga.

I'm currently working on FTDI drivers.
The FT232 serial chip is one of the most popular,
and has been embedded into a LOT of devices.

I signed an NDA and got the documents from FTDI.
I've only been delayed while I finished a hardware
project that I wrapped up two weeks ago.

Yes, I realize that the serial port is getting old,
but I have a lot of serial toys, and I'd like the idea
of having as many as I want off of a USB Hub.

The USB MIDI driver has been quite successful so far,
so I'm working off of that for the FTDI driver.

I hope to get the USB side worked out first, then go
looking for example OS4 device code for that half of it.

It won't be long until I'll be asking for help, I'm sure.
