1# Make sure no other computer shares you IP address, IP address must be unique.
2# Make sure you don’t have cable loops, (cables out on port and into another on your router/switch) this results in network storms, slow down network.
3# Make sure no one is using your computer for malicious activities, wireshark or other network tools can help identify programs that send data.
4# Make sure you don’t have any Proxys installed.
if use alot pirate software, there is risk you install a bit more then you asked for.

For right now its a very basic fresh install (in case i need to do it again)
i bought the last ibrowse app because i liked it (prefered) over any other os3 app back then. Ibrowse is not locking up the computer it just wont load any pages after a few minutes and after that no other app is able to communicate with the network. when i bought ibrowse, dont know if this is common knowledge but they give you a key for the older version (non ppc) and i used it in winuae, cant reproduce the problem there. the network stack is working with any other app normal (typing this via odyssey right now) unless i started ibrowse first. cant figure out why it doesnt like the network stack or whatever it is. Thanks for your advise

Which machine and which network card?
Had similar problems with X-surf100 on Amy.

Machine is the Sam460ex
Network is the builtin adapter.

right now i have it to a extra switch connected and the switch itself is connected to one of these wireless adapters so the sam is connected as dhcp via cable. this is just a temp setup to narow things down without changing the network to much.

for some reason i find myself using the sam more than the x5000 these days. problem is the same on both machines. i also checked the archive for corruption.

Under the network settings, in IBrowse, try switching "Persistent connections" off. That would be the one thing I would think could cause a problem, although if it does, it is possibly a bug in the network driver.

It works fine on my A1XE. I saw a similar report of this elsewhere - will try to find it, to remember what the resolution was .

It is a solution, but not the best solution . What do you have the "Max. number of connections" set to in the network preferences? This also affects the number of sockets cached for persistent connections.

You can use "shownetstatus tcpsockets" in a shell to show the currently allocated sockets. It smells like a bug in the network card driver to me, which could be falling over if there are too many connections. It could be a bug in IBrowse, but I don't see it on my A1200 with PCMCIA network card + Miami, or on my A1XE with onboard networking.

I had the same problem also on a Sam460.
I had started the order to upgrade but stopped when I hit this problem and couldn't find a solution at the time.
I ordered last Sunday thinking it's been a long time and surely there would be answers by now.
Funnily enough, this seems to be the only one I can find.
This fix does work though so hopefully my key will arrive soon.

Cheers

Paid for an upgrade to V3 on the 2nd March.
Still no keyfile despite multiple emails sent.
is this long of a wait normal?

I received my key file not even a couple of hours after the purchase.
There must be some hiccup happening.

I had a similar issue, I had started but not completed an order with a different email address. Oliver had to delete my old order so I could complete a new one.

Hopefully he sees this soon and fixes it for you.

Looks like my issue was the massive time lag between starting and completing the order.
Plus my emails all ended up in the spam folder.
All sorted now.

Clearly Oliver is a very rich and open minded person.
Not interested in being the beneficiary of $3 million dollars or worried about being spied on when watching adult sites. :)

What a weird post. Is there a real meaning behind it, or just English words randomly put together to form a somewhat grammatically sounding correct frase?

If you are referring to the last part, I was just making a joke about the type of nonsense emails sent these days that get picked up by spam filters.
I could also have mentioned the failed to deliver a package email that is also very common.
In fact there are quite a number of common spams emails, that I could have used.

I use SpamFryer by Simon N Goodwin with YAM to get rid of mine.

The lack of context didn't help your post

I don't know why your messages ended up in spam, as my email is Gmail based, which is normally ultra reliable - DKIM, SPF and DMARC all passed too. I don't normally check the spam on the IBrowse account as it rarely gets any.

The fact that there was a 5+ year gap in you originally placing the upgrade order and completing it was a little unusual - well done on keeping the email with the payment link on for so long. Perhaps I should be expiring those links after a few weeks!

Yeah it might have been better if I had given more detail on the time lag.
In my defense, that was posted before I had my first coffee of the day. :)

Oh, right, I get it now!

I guess my spam filters are such, that I don't even notice those kind of mails. That or I'm living behind a rock. 😆

I too should drink more coffee! Haha
