Okay I have a stupid question

First i'm playing around with ubuntu trying to setup a cross compiler..

playing around with adtools .. I see refrence to /usr/local/amigaos so I was wondering what is suposed to be put into that dir?

my bet is it mimic our amiga sdk: dir but i'm not sure

Which astools repo are you using.

We generally use https://github.com/sba1/adtools.

Unless you are trying to make a native distribution (for distribution of the native ppc compiler and tools for others) there is no need for it to be specifically /usr/local/amigaos. For that, actually it goes into /gcc with that folder have non root permissions.

Tldr: use that link. Run gild to get binutils, and gcc. You can specify your output directory by setting your CROSS_PREFIX environment variable.

It's pretty much all in the git hub main page.

If you want to checkout and build the coreutils, then checkout version 5, not 8.

The /usr/local hierarchy is for use by the system administrator when installing software locally.

(NutsAboutAmiga)

Basilisk II for AmigaOS4
AmigaInputAnywhere
Excalibur
and other tools and apps.

yeah .. I'm trying to follow the instruction on that page

but my full compile fails .. so i'm trying to figure out why

and when I looked at some of the makefiles like this one

I can see its compiled with a prefix too /usr/local/amiga

so I was wonder if it was be course I dident setup up this directory
