Limit on video size for DvPlayer / Emotion? (SOLVED: SMB limitation)
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

See User information
I have two files. One is 1988199650 in size and the other is 2795443445 in size.

Both are:
"ISO Media"

when running (from my AmigaOne X5000)
file <theFile>

It seems that if a file is greater than INT_MAX then Emotion will display a message saying:
Not supported media format

DvPlayer will display a message saying:
File is not recognised as a supported movie format

Suggesting that the error is due to INT_MAX is just a guess. All I know is that the files are the same "type" but one is larger than the other. The smaller one works and the larger one throws the error message above. These files are "mp4".

===

version dvplayer

results in
DvPlayer 54.9

version emotion

results in
Emotion 1.9

===

I have no such INT_MAX limitation with a .mkv file. That is to say that running a file that is .mkv > 4GB works.

===

LINUX reports the offending "file" types (.mp4) above as:
ISO MediaMPEG-(.MP4) for SonyPSP

===

Shall I report this to some bug tracker?

INT_MAX should be 2^31 (+2/-2 Million)
UINT_MAX should be 2^32 (4 Million)
you have LONG_LONG_INT_MAX thats should 2^63
you have LONG_LONG_UINT_MAX thats should 2^64

Yes. Thank you. My point is that it seems to be a 2GB limit with that sort of file type.

So the problem is probably the actual Codec
: MSNV (MSNV/mp42/isom) codec.

Well... the codec combined with the file size?

Remember, one works, the other does not.

Hi I sent the video link to you. But it I'd not just that video. Seems to be any that I have in the collection that is >2gb.

The video plays back ok for me.
Both DVPlayer and Emotion.
Radeon RX and the Enhancer hardware acceleration.

What Filesystem are you using for the playback ?
I use SFS/02 (from the Enhancer package ) for my video storage and playback .

also works from sfs/00 partition .

Okay, this could be because I am playing these over SMB.

I will try to copy the file first, then play it from the machine locally.

Perhaps this is an issue with SMB. It would make more sense because it is odd that both DvPlayer and Emotion show an error. Yet, large files of a different codec play okay over SMB.

===

As for my machine. Registered Emotion and DvPlayer, latest enhancer, SFS2. Just like yours. RX.
